Santa Fish has scarred me for life!
Good Job! He's a keeper. :super:
But honestly, he does haunt my dreams. That is the creepiest froggin idea. Sometimes I wonder about ya. Santa Fish just invites too many unanswered questions that I'm not sure I wanna know! (Worries about getting a...
I would pick October. It's a season for scary movies or sleepers so it's usually void of many options. It provides a needed alternative and a month or so before anything else could steal its thunder.
Saw 6 or The Next Muppet Movie? The Lake House 2 or The Muppets to the Rescue? Oprah's Book...
I bet this book suffered from what usually befalls other Fraggle products - the idea that there's not enough interest. I think that's bogus, but even Hit with their knowledge of healthy DVD sales tried to gouge the consumer fan base with the all-or-nothing final set.
I suspect the figures and...
I tried to hop into Borders Books across the street before work and even though the book was supposed to be in the store I couldn't find it and the staff was characteristically unhelpful. It was also listed for 8 bucks more than Amazon so I just ordered it online. I'm sure the staff at that...
I agree. A movie is actually easier to release and market than a television series these days. It's this self-contained product that if correctly marketed and modestly budgeted can usually recoup its cost as a DVD if it doesn't make it at the box office. I'd like nothing better than a television...
I never knew Zoe's origin and must have missed her formative years. Season 25 was a time when I was leaving home for college etc so my time was spent killing brain cells rather than enhancing them. :p
By the time I noticed Zoe she was better formed into what we see today and I like that...
Since Jim the Mayhem has been reduced to this:
Faded background in MCC
A one liner in MTI
Virtually replaced/sometimes background on MT
A "Shalom" in MFS
A couple one-liners in VMX
A couple lines in LTS
And then each had one line and played in the background of DC
The Mayhem once had...
I agree, there should have been something more between the North Pole and arriving home. I think that's what was missing. I would have loved to see the joke of having the Mayhem playing a gig out in the middle of the snow somewhere. I miss those guys.
I think Rowlf will be getting more screen time if YouTube is any indication. Johnny has kind of fallen off (probably because Brian's Sal is MIA) but Bobo appears to still be making the rounds. I doubt Rowlf will get as much attention as Pepe, but it appears to be on the rise. Dr. Teeth and the...
I suppose that film has yet to hit me and I have seen many, many movies. I like to find where any value is even when it can be hard to see. I suppose that's learned from watching Kermit and even the Fraggles. I refuse to believe that even in the worst Muppet project that there isn't *something*...
I agree with some of that. VMX certainly did go too far over the edge in some of its jokes. We disagree with the degree, but I get it.
However - to say either VMX or LTS have *no* good moments for a fan is ridiculous. I didn't like MFS and pretty much loathed KSY, but both contain some great...
Actually, you created the initial age linkage (at least for your part) in saying:
I do think there is a generational element to how the projects are perceived, but it is one of several factors. I can understand how someone from my generation would expect the Muppets to have a sharper wit...
Really? Have you heard something because that's not what I've gathered that they're doing. I just thought they'd build up to the movie with a series of specials, but not an actual television series. That, I felt, would come after a successful film.
The theater is the Muppets' origin so of course that's where they belong. ;) It's also where many of the character dynamics come from. I like seeing them both in and out of the theater. It had been so long since we'd seen them in their natural vaudeville setting so that made VMX even more...
I get you on that point. It's hard for an actor not to outshine the historical figure they are portraying in a biopic. Also many events have to be altered and contrivances created in order to squeeze the story into an appropriate running time.
I have a soft spot for this particular subject...
I'd say yes to that (not counting inflation adjustments). Dare I say...but it the first Garfield film could make 75 million than so can the Muppets new adventure. :o
