MN: (massages right wrist) My hand's hurting...and I've still got to plant that peony...
Storyteller: And I've got those legends to file...
Nora: And I'm helping Mrs. Farley with inventory.
MN: Hmm. (looks around room) All right, work's over. Grab your suits, people, we've got a pool party to...
"Do I snore?"
"Yeah, you're a real window-rattler."
I certainly wouldn't like having to stand there for photos - heck, one of them probably just got blinded by the flash on someone's camera.
It's true, puppeteers aren't judged by their appearance as much as on-camera actors, and that gives...
Two dogs, both aged 13. One is a German shorthaired pointer named Marta - she's a sweet dog, but stubborn and often temperamental (rather like me, actually). The other is a German shepherd-black lab mix named Toby. He's big, furry and lovable...but he gets really territorial if other dogs come...
(in room 7, the three occupants are seated in the middle of the floor, telling ghost stories)
Storyteller: And the stifling, retch-inducing sulfur fumes burbled up as the young Fraggle made his way along the wall of the Caves of Nausea, when he met...
MN: A terrible mage, with equally terrible...
"What do you call that hairdo?"
"Arthur."
That's right, the audience should have been allowed to see Richard as well as Jim...although in my dream, Richard seemed a little surprised that he was being asked to stand up.
To tell the truth, in that one photo, Kermit and Scooter look quite...
MN: (grips wrists) Ow...my wrists are tingling.
Storyteller: Uh-oh, have you been typing a little too hard?
MN: That, and I've been clutching a needle and thread for a bit too long.
Nora: Oh, what are you working on?
MN: New quilt for my bed. It's a bunch of scraps and bits sewn into long...
They're all exceptional, one way or another.
Richard Hunt's my favorite; I've always thought Scooter has a beautiful voice...of all the verses in "Saying Goodbye," it's always Scooter's verse that tugs the most at my heartstrings. And we also need to consider Janice, Beaker, Don Music and...
"Are you a mod or a rocker?"
"No, I'm a mocker."
If a Beatle (or a few Beatles) appeared on the show, Scooter would be doing the 15 second standby call with great enthusiasm, the Mayhem would be practically bowing down on their knees and Miss Piggy would try to hit on one of the band (probably...
"How did you find America?"
"Turned left at Greenland."
Jerry Nelson says Ringo probably would have consented to an appearance on TMS. I think George and Paul would have done so, too, but it's hard to say with John. But can you imagine what an episode of TMS starring at least one of the...
Let's see...well, it looks like a good bit of GMC was filmed in the West End, and that's where we've stayed in the city. I've mentioned Battersea Park a couple of times, but here are some of the others, and they're actually some of the really well-known spots in the city.
"17 Highbrow Street"...
It's a very good thing that Mr. Allegretti said "sorry, we can't use you" to 18-year-old Richard...otherwise Richard might not have gone over to the Henson studios to introduce himself.
Then again, he probably would have, sooner or later...but it's good that he joined the Muppets sooner.
I...
MN: Ah, so Maddy's brought the rest of the Mayhem in. Fer sure...
Nora: Hey, weren't you supposed to be on the welcoming committee or something?
MN: Oh, dear Lord, that's right. We'll have to bring some of our LPs and CDs up and properly introduce ourselves. (shifts around in chair) I've been...
Nora: (reading newspaper) Hey...this guy in Scotland claims he's got a video of the Loch Ness Monster.
MN: What, Nessie wouldn't come out for us, but she'll surface for some guy with a video camera in his hand, and the BBC on his speed dial...let me see that.
Storyteller: How are your allergies...
Quite interesting, indeed...of course, like I said, it's been eons since I last watched Sesame Street, so all my memories of the show come from the late 80s and early 90s.
Thought I'd bring this up - on Richard's page on Muppet Wiki, there's a photo of him in director mode for Fraggle Rock...
I remember seeing a few episodes of The Adventures of Tintin, back when I was about nine or ten, and I really liked the action/adventure and mystery elements, so I might go see the film when it opens.
Also: in the latest New Yorker, there was a really good article about Herge's background and...
MN: Well, our train did stop at Newcastle on the way up to Scotland, so we couldn't have been too far from the hall. We waved as we came in over the Tyne.
Storyteller: And Fughetta heard a GNER train come through there around noon or so...
Nora: That would have been us.
Storyteller: So she and...
Oh, trust me, we did. Coulda done without the alder pollen and the long lines at customs, though.
Let's see, we arrived in London on Tuesday morning, stayed for three days and went up to Edinburgh on Friday. Came home late yesterday afternoon. In London, in addition to finding Jim's bench, we...
MN: Ah, home sweet home...break out the tea and the shortbread. (sneeze, sniffle)
Nora: What kind...Earl Grey, Queen Anne, strawberry...
MN: Oh, any kind's fine (sneeze, cough) with me. I need something to open up my (sniffle, sneeze, snort) sinuses.
Storyteller: (appearing through Fraggle hole...
Hi, gang, I'm back, and yes, I read the article about the autistic child spelling out Richard's name. Very interesting!
Had a great time in the UK, and I'll give a full report soon...I've been sneezing and sniffling ever since we took off for home this morning. Something in Scotland really...
