Yes, the running order was different. There were seven runs of episodes, plus 'Bells' which aired as a Christmas special in 1984 (two days before the US got to see it, fact fans!). There's a mostly-complete list of episodes here: http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Fraggle_Rock_%28UK%29

It's not impossible, but it would be uncharacteristically early - the BBFC levies a charge to certify an item, so publishers tend not to do the clearances until the release is in its final stages of preparation so that if something goes wrong (eg an artist refusing permission, or music rights...
That wouldn't require the material to go past the BBFC, though - their remit is cinema and home video.
Interesting, isn't it :-) If TMS4 was coming this year, I'd have said these were for that.
British Board of Film Classification. The censor. All movies and video releases have to be passed by them before release. If they're certifying these, it must be for a DVD.
Stars & Stripes (1m58s)
Habanera (1m24s)
Classical Chicken (1m32s)
All have been submitted by Buena Vista, and are directed by Peter Harris (at least according to the BBFC)
Anyone know what these might be?
It's not. The original cut of the film does contain approximately three minutes of extra material, including an extra verse of "I Hope That Somethin' Better Comes Along", but that line is unique to the version of the song on the soundtrack album.
The alleged "Manhattan" cut may stem from the...
Yup; different markets air in different orders. The closest there is to a 'definitive' or 'official' order would probably be the order in which the shows aired on ATV (the TV company that produced them):
Roger Moore
Loretta Swit
James Coburn
Linda Ronstadt
Tony Randall
Brooke Shields...
Different company. Central Independent Television was the company created when Muppet Show producer ATV was restructured in 1982. Now called ITV Central. It's quite possible that they might have acquired the archive from a defunct ITV franchise-holder.
Another possibility: IFE bought TVS after its close-down at the end of '92. Six years later their archive went to Fox, and in turn was bought in 2001 by...Disney.
Unfortunately it's equally likely, if not more, that the archive was destroyed. Bizarre though it may seem, TV programmes were still being junked as late as the 90s :-(
At least another 14 shows exist - I have copies (albeit not in broadcast quality).
The show was a co-production with TVS, who would presumably be the most likely holder of the missing tapes. Unfortunately they went off-air at the end of '92 and I've no idea what happened to their archive...
Just noticed something rather odd. The white-apron version and the Christmas chef both appear to have discoloured - their heads and hands have gone grey. There are still streaks of pink visible, mostly in the creases of the sculpts, but it looks too weird to be a deliberate paint-job. There's...
I'm liquidating a large part of my Muppet A/V collection...anyone interested? :-) Drop me a line if you'd like more information on anything!
HBO Fraggle Rock VHS (NTSC) - all 16 tapes in cardboard slipcases
HBO Fraggle Rock VHS (NTSC) - 8 of the tapes in clamshell boxes
HBO Fraggle Rock...
Like the title says :-) I'm looking for a good quality original NTSC recording of the scene that was cut from the DVD release, as my current copy has a massive tape scratch *right* at the point where the DVD was cut :-(
I'd prefer an analogue copy on SVHS or VHS - a DVD copy made on a...
Yeah, but I suspect you'd need a regional newspaper in order to get ATV's listings (or at least the appropriate regional edition of one of the nationals - The British Library may well only have the London edition). That said, it's worth noting that London finished airing Season One on April 2nd...
Specifically, the Ethel Merman show aired on ATV on April 9th '77 (the last two were Connie Stevens on the 16th and Vincent Price on the 23rd), so as you say, they must have aired two programmes that night - assuming that the information on the back of this photo is accurate; plans may have...
I know where he is...
...no really, I do...
...
...wait for it...
...wait for it...
...we need to send someone to fetch him, he's in Sasquatchawan!
...moving right along... :-)
Um...there's a good argument for at least allowing *smaller* font sizes in signatures - the sig is considerably less important than the message that precedes it and since a lot of folks use colours and other tags in their sigs, a sig at the same font size as the messages can be very distracting!
