I think you mean 4 and 5? Season 3 runs to 22 episodes (technically it also includes Wembley's Wonderful Whoopie Water and Sidebottom Blues as they were taped in the same production block).
This sounds like the offical R2 UK release, which is PAL so be aware that it won't play in the majority of US machines.
And that sounds like an illegal copy.
The first one, but it sounds like your local network made some edits of their own, probably for timing reasons. The Robin/Grover scene is present in all three official versions of the show.
Yeah, Kaleidoscope are pretty good, but they rely on similar sources of information to me so, like my lists, they're only as good as their source :-)
I have hard information for most of the Season 4 shows, plus I know that something aired on or around Oct 26th, and since Dud is the odd one...
Any more info on this? :-)
Yeah, there were a few repeats in the early days. Williams was re-aired in June '77, as was Lena Horne, for example
You sure about that? Midlands was ATV's own region, it seems highly unlikely they'd have passed on a programme they made!
It might help more if it were even remotely accurate :-)
I'm using back issues of TVTimes for my information. It's a slow and expensive process, but it should be fairly accurate!
Some information...
I'm in the process of compiling (or at least, trying to!) a full set of UK tx dates for the show. The first season was run by most - but not all - ITV franchises including ATV, YTV, Granada, HTV, Anglia, Tyne Tees and Westward, plus London. Running order and dates varied...
I've been meaning to post this for ages now...
This is the complete and (hopefully) definitive list of differences between the original 1977 edit ("Edit1") and the later re-edit of the show ("Edit2").
After the opening titles:

There are two different mixes of the extended theme. The one on the US record album features Doc's voice at the start; the one on the UK album does not (for obvious reasons) and also has a different musical arrangement.
Wrong. The series was - obviously - shot in SD; there would be absolutely no advantage to upping it to HD and a number of serious drawbacks. Both HDDVD and BluRay are compressed formats - neither will support uncompressed video at any resolution as the datarates required are far too high...
It's very probably a coincidence. Music rights have become something of a problem in the last few years, which just happens to coincide with Disney's acquisition of the Muppets. It's entirely probable that Columbia would have hit the same problem had they been able to continue with their...
Ok, two things: one, no offence, but you're too young to remember Paul Daniels' heyday - his show was hugely popular; and two, the programme was about the tradition of light entertainment in the UK - whether the show was popular outside its home country wasn't relevant.
Slight correction needed to the review - only "Wembley's Egg" and "Boober's Dream" have the modified opening titles. All other shows on the first disc have the original FR logo.
