What they have done with every older franchise in history. Market and feature the projects that are considered their best work. Nickelodeon had the right idea rerunning Muppet Show. That is main reason why kids of my generation were familiar with the show at all.
Or, you go the Looney Tunes...
Yeah it's funny how trends come and go. In the '80s, slasher baddies like Freddy and Jason were all the rage. Now vampires are back in the spotlight (painful for them I'm sure! ;) )
I'm more of a Days of Our Lives and Bold & the Beautiful fan. Also Guiding Light before it ended. I also used to watch Santa Barbara with my Mom when I was a kid, lol.
I mean, I get it, there's been some recasts that I absolutely hated. And then you're stuck with them and it's just frustrating...
Ahhh yes, I remember that. That wasn't my soap so it didn't affect me. But I can understand how awkward that is. It's hard to just cut a character out of your life after an actor turns out to be a disappointment.
Are you serious? LOL.
Honestly, I'm torn about the team name change. On one hand, if the team was named The Guidos, I might want them to change it too. :p
But on the other hand, it's the epitome of a First World problem. :insatiable:
Oh I disagree, I've always identified with Sarah's journey of learning to balance childhood and adulthood. And it makes even more sense as I get older. She's not the same at all at the end. She stops being the drama queen victim and starts to accept her life, as imperfect as it is. Her hope that...
Oh you're totally right, absolutely. Jocks who try to recapture their High School glory days are pretty funny. I guess it's an American thing (?), but we're much more tolerant of sports fans than of, um, A&E fans. Our culture is just more geared toward celebrating the "macho." Nothing wrong with...
I mean it's also fair to mention that Sarah has reasons for being such a jerk at the beginning. Her mother is clearly gone, her step mom is a big nag who doesn't understand her, her father is likely preoccupied with his new family, and Toby is probably getting all the attention because he's a...
It really depends on the indivdual. Some fans are indeed just regular people who enjoy the chance to act crazy every now and then. Others can become a bit too, um, preoccupied let's say.
And sometimes that's OK. I'm actually one of the few Star Trek fans who didn't mind the documentary...
OK, I actually think Jim Henson already addressed this...
You know how at the beginning of Labyrinth, Sarah spends all her time cos playing alone, refusing to interact with her little brother and, we're told, never really has play dates outside the house? Basically, she's royally pi**ed off...
OK, the one exception I might make to my "no censorship" rule would be that "Windmills of Your Mind" sketch. For some reason, it freaked me out for ages as a child. I used to fast forward through it all the time. I think it's the way the music started getting all fast and off putting when the...
I remember thinking that about Bayformers. I honestly didn't have that same complaint with the turtles movie. Yeah, the villains weren't entirely captivating. There always has to be something, right?
Anytime a comedian/comedic show lets their agenda get in the way of the humor, be very afraid, lol.
South Park has its agenda moments too, but their nothing sacred attitude is stronger. Family Guy's problem is some things actually became sacred, and that's just not funny. ;)
And yeah, when...
Scooter: Muppets Take Manhattan
For my entire childhood, one of my prevailing memory of MTM was Scooter's letter to Kermit, asking "Have you sold the show yet? Have you heard from the gang?", while a melancholy instrumental of "Together Again" played in the background. That movie is amazing as...
Hmm, I personally I don't believe in censoring kids' TV viewing. My parents never did that, and I was the biggest goody goody in school, lol.
But, just to play along for the sake of the thread...
That Liza Minelli "Copacabana" number. I could see that upsetting me as a child; the story's just...
OK, there are times in life where I am delighted to be proven wrong. This, miraculously, is one of those times...I really enjoyed the new turtles film!
I don't care about the plot, etc. Bottom line for me, I liked the turtles as characters. They were consistently funny and likeable, and as an...
