Really not doing well, and I'm scared. I just don't have the energy or interest in anything anymore. There are things that go well, but they don't have the effect they should. And then my friend has to go and say, "You just WANT to be depressed." Yeah thanks, you really get it. :coy:
To be...
Those weren't protesters. Those were opportunists blending in with the actual protesters, looking for an excuse to trash things. They didn't care about Michael Brown, or anyone but themselves.
That town, both the citizens and the cops, have utterly embarrassed themselves in front of the entire...
Well, be careful what you wish for! Turns out my Mom is sick and we can't go to my relatives' house for Thanksgiving. For the first time ever, my family is going to have to try doing Thanksgiving at home...with two days notice, lol. It's going to be tricky, wish us luck! :p
I've never even heard of that brand name, lol.
Even if the F word didn't have that negative connotation, it's still not exactly the most pleasant sounding word. Not sure why you'd use it to sell food!
OK, if Thanksgiving refuses to come to you, then you just have to seek it out! Today I'll watch the Thanksgiving episode of Family Ties, where the mom and dad get put in jail for protesting nuclear war.
No Nukes is Good Nukes
Some observations:
1. Hey, it's Darrin #2 playing Elsie's father...
Yeah something that's repeatedly obvious is that PETA is largely ignorant about the ways of animals. Their idea of zoology is a Disney movie.
I don't need to see furry pictures, but I did actually enjoy that game. Probably because I was terrified of those anamatronic cretins as a kid, lol.
The only part of the Raquel Welch episode that's really risque is her little "moment" with Fozzie. :o Now, maybe the dialogue isn't what you want kids repeating in the school yard, lol, but I'd still show it to my kids. Kids observe adults holding and kissing all the time.
As a kid, I...
.....K, I didn't know about that one, lol.
Yeah I'm sorry, but the way PETA uses women in their imagery is beyond...just beyond!
And yeah, once again we're complaining about PETA rather than complaining about animal rights, lol. Better to help out the Humane Society or even your local...
Feel free to say that, lol. I'm not beholden to TM in any way. I just said it had a more obvious hook for audiences.
MTM is the one that really comes dangerously close. After awhile, you just start thinking, "My God, what else can happen to these guys?!" Lol. Particularly the soundtrack, it is...
I definitely understand why people would be offended by the Holocaust comparison. At the same time, I get that for PETA people, animals are very much on the same level as human beings, and therefore the slaughter houses would be just as upsetting to them.
The autism/milk thing, that's just...
PETA does frustrate me because there are genuine grievances regarding animal rights that need to be addressed. But PETA is just so extreme, and so crazy, people just end up laughing at them, rather than listening to them. They're just too insular; they don't know how to reach people who aren't...
Actually, yeah! Have you guys seen The Muppet Movie and The Muppets Take Manhattan? They're two of the most emotionally manipulative movies that ever lived, lol. And they're both about getting the band together. And they were both well received and continue to be beloved. And I'll even add to...
Thanks. :) And I think your point about the length of time between sequels makes sense. Even if a first sequel is rushed and not perfect, it can sometimes at least create enough hype to paved the way for others. It's happened before.
No secret that I was not a fan of MMW. But just because I didn't think it was a good movie, doesn't mean that's why it didn't do well.
The Muppets (2011) had an easy hook - we're getting the band back together! That's epic right there. And you had this hero figure in Jason Segel, who defied the...
Lucy was just being cheeky, as usual.
Well, with Linus it's probably just understood that he's invited. But Charlie Brown's the type to only see the negative. :p
