The sexual revolution was largely for heterosexuals. Homosexuals were still regarded as weird or a punchline, even by liberals. It took a few decades before that really changed.
Um, yeah, you pretty much describe my pattern with any fandom, lol. :)
It's healthy and normal to burn out and then return later. It's how you keep things fresh.
I don't think too many people "want" to be in food service. It's simply a matter of survival. ;)
My Grandfather did. He was a painter and playwright, and never gave those things up, but he also worked as a salesman. He hated it, but he had a wife and two children to support.
So I would argue...
::sigh:: I remember having a delayed opening one day in 6th grade. I spent the morning watching Rugrats, the episode where Chuckie gets his first grown up bed. Later I went to school, and we were all talking about Chuckie's monologue about his crib, lol. Good times!
I've known many people who have "regular" jobs and are still able to indulge their artistic sides (doing plays, their own films, etc.). It is certainly possible and can be very satisfying. And you don't have to pander to mindless executive types (at least not as much, hehe).

Her career as an object of ridicule. And one that's not even guaranteed to last that long in the grand scheme. There's always another soon-to-be-has-been coming up the ranks.
I mean, guys have been writing for girl's shows forever probably, so I don't mind that. It's not like women always agree on how to handle things.
But I'd question the wisdom of any cartoon addressing anorexia. The characters don't look like real people even on a good day, lol. It's probably a...
