The President is not often at this event, if ever, I believe.
Current President is throwing his own pity-party event elsewhere in Washington that night.
That was at the end.
But yeah, it was nice to see Baby Bear again; I miss him, even though they didn't really do much in the episode. The bit at the very end was easily the best part. And that Cloud 9 Diner animation was interesting to say the least.
I am interested in seeing OTL just because it's a rare thing, but honestly, the descriptions on the Wiki don't sound all that hot. The Muppet stuff seems fine (I've seen a bit of the Grover Knover bit at one screening), but the stuff with the Electric Company cast looks easily skippable and that...
I often wonder if Sesame has the original film reels for a lot of those early films and cartoons before they were dubbed to tape. The Henson Legacy has some of Jim's Sesame work on film and restored some of it HD not long ago (looking really good).
That was rather amusing, actually, especially the little bit with the Count.
And wasn't there supposed to be a song with Solange Knowles in this episode?
Season boxsets of the show would be completely impractical; you could fit at most 3 hours on a disc, and that would still be 40+ discs a season.
Plus, there's tons of royalties/rights for the all the cast, celebrities, animators, filmmakers, musicians, etc - there's no way something like this...
Kinda weird to hear a non-hip-hop arrangement of "What I Am"; if you're inclined to think so, I guess that says something about the modern methods of Sesame songwriting.
But yeah, that was swell. They kinda threw me there by having Elmo's favorite song not be "Elmo's Song."
