Bear arrives on Disney+ The beloved series has been off the air for the past 15 years. Now all four seasons are finally available for a whole new generation.
I appreciate the fact that they did this series and all the work that went into them. I do.
But, I'm sorry, the narration makes it such a chore to get through; I can't stand it. The Muppets should register more emotion and not constant monotone, flat delivery. And there's a number of times...
My turn for speculation:
re: Disc 1 - I wouldn't expect a season-by-season breakdown like the 40 Years disc. Since it's only three hours or so, I would probably expect segments to be grouped by decade, and I would not be surprised if some seasons get overlooked/unrepresented.
re: Disc 2 - This...

I mean, I guess it's remarkable that they were able to make a coherent (albiet rapidly-paced) story from a special while cutting it to a quarter of its original running time.
Overall, I'm not all impressed by this season. The whole "plan the play" theme isn't bad, but what it produced weren't...
What is it with you and the ratings/budget cuts?
Evidence suggests the prime motivation behind this was that due to his age and physical condition, he just couldn't do the performances anymore.
I don't know why they even did it in the first place (especially when season 2 came and they apparently went like, "Let's do an extra 15 episodes this season!").
Considering the show airs 5 days a week (yeah, I know some stations do weekends too), an even number like that wouldn't really work...
Personally, I don't really like the whole "random vignettes on the street" approach unless they can come up with funny/interesting ones.
Also hot take: they should've knocked off that whole "130 episodes a season" thing ages beforehand. Less episodes would allow them to put the money toward...
It's kind of hard to take seriously someone who once, unironically, posted "I want every episode from 1-3005."
(On a related note: calling folks "Sesame Brats" doesn't sound any more mature than the people obsessing over inconsequential stuff.)

(Spoiler: thar be some bonus content)
Cover art is a bit bland compared to the 40th anniversary one, but whatever.
The Vulture article makes it sound like one disc is assorted clips, and the other disc is memorable street stories. Seems good to me.
The street plot was already really short and yet they edited it down to be even shorter, so they could fit in..."Plan the Play"...again.
I did like that "C is for Cars" toon; that is exactly how these letter shorts should be - actually teaching the letter.
No, it's not really a "special." It's just the non-insert pieces from the season premiere episode (all the scenes add up to about 26 minutes, so it works perfectly as a half-hour special).
Or, and this seems really out there, y'all can just relax.
And please, do not pester these people regarding these episodes. I know you all badly want to see them, but you just have to be patient and see what comes of this.
