    50th Anniversary DVD announced

The Sesame Spoofs set was sold on iTunes as two separate "movies," so this would probably follow the same.

Defunctland TV is dedicating the entire month of April 2019 to Jim Henson

I appreciate the fact that they did this series and all the work that went into them. I do. But, I'm sorry, the narration makes it such a chore to get through; I can't stand it. The Muppets should register more emotion and not constant monotone, flat delivery. And there's a number of times...

Has anyone seen this segment before?

It was first shown in #1512, and (possibly) last seen in #1809.

    50th Anniversary DVD announced

My turn for speculation: re: Disc 1 - I wouldn't expect a season-by-season breakdown like the 40 Years disc. Since it's only three hours or so, I would probably expect segments to be grouped by decade, and I would not be surprised if some seasons get overlooked/unrepresented. re: Disc 2 - This...

Sesame Street Season 49 Episode 4935 - Cookie Monster's Museum Mystery

I mean, I guess it's remarkable that they were able to make a coherent (albiet rapidly-paced) story from a special while cutting it to a quarter of its original running time. Overall, I'm not all impressed by this season. The whole "plan the play" theme isn't bad, but what it produced weren't...

It's Official: Caroll Spinney retires from Sesame Street after nearly 50 years

What is it with you and the ratings/budget cuts? Evidence suggests the prime motivation behind this was that due to his age and physical condition, he just couldn't do the performances anymore.

Make classic Sesame Street available online (petition)

I don't know why they even did it in the first place (especially when season 2 came and they apparently went like, "Let's do an extra 15 episodes this season!"). Considering the show airs 5 days a week (yeah, I know some stations do weekends too), an even number like that wouldn't really work...

Make classic Sesame Street available online (petition)

Personally, I don't really like the whole "random vignettes on the street" approach unless they can come up with funny/interesting ones. Also hot take: they should've knocked off that whole "130 episodes a season" thing ages beforehand. Less episodes would allow them to put the money toward...

Make classic Sesame Street available online (petition)

It's kind of hard to take seriously someone who once, unironically, posted "I want every episode from 1-3005." (On a related note: calling folks "Sesame Brats" doesn't sound any more mature than the people obsessing over inconsequential stuff.)

I wouldn't think there are going to be any; these discs look they'll be stuffed to the max with highlights.

Sesame Street Season 50 News and Rumors

Cover art is a bit bland compared to the 40th anniversary one, but whatever. The Vulture article makes it sound like one disc is assorted clips, and the other disc is memorable street stories. Seems good to me.

Sesame Street Season 49 Episode 4934 - Slimey at the Car Race

The street plot was already really short and yet they edited it down to be even shorter, so they could fit in..."Plan the Play"...again. I did like that "C is for Cars" toon; that is exactly how these letter shorts should be - actually teaching the letter.

Where are all these classic Sesame Street episodes coming from?

No, it's not really a "special." It's just the non-insert pieces from the season premiere episode (all the scenes add up to about 26 minutes, so it works perfectly as a half-hour special).

Where are all these classic Sesame Street episodes coming from?

Or, and this seems really out there, y'all can just relax. And please, do not pester these people regarding these episodes. I know you all badly want to see them, but you just have to be patient and see what comes of this.

Where are all these classic Sesame Street episodes coming from?

Whatever arrangement there is, it's based on the goodwill Muppet Wiki has built up over the years. Random YT-ers have no such standing.

Sesame Street Season 49 Episode 4933 - Camp Grover

So, Grover doesn't know what a camp counselor does...and yet they directly reference the sketches where he was a camp counselor. Eh, whatever.
