A xerus is an African ground squirrel. I used to see this animal a lot in my animal alphabet books when I was a kid. But for some reason, I can never find a xerus in any encyclopedias or zoology books.
Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all. And I hope you're all wearing green. :)
Kermit, Robin, Dr. Teeth, Bunsen, Zoot, and Crazy Harry, don't have to worry about getting pinched ever, since their skins are green.
And Oscar is all covered with green fur. But knowing him, I'll bet Oscar wishes...
Does anyone know if Bill Barretta ever got a chance to meet Jim Henson? Bill seems to be a big part of the Muppet team now and I wonder if he ever got the chance to meet Jim. And I wonder what Jim thinks of Bill's performances when he's watching them from heaven?
Yes, that skit always gets to me too. Seeing Kermit showing us the wonders of the sky.
Also when I see Kermit and those kids together. It's kind of like Jim Henson spending time with a new generation of puppeteers. Teaching them wisdom on a nice day.
I will always miss Jim. :sympathy:
Also, today's vending machines can accept anything from nickels, dimes, quarters, and even dollars, and can give you your change back.
But the ice cream machine the boys tried to use wouldn't accept 2 nickels. Just dimes.
Yep, that's how I remember that skit. And I only remember seeing it one or two times as a little kid.
Also, it's interesting to see Beautiful Day with a tender side. How he loved his wife. But then also showing his usual scary side by scaring Guy Smiley.
Sausage Balls.
What you need...
1 pound of Jimmy Dean Sausage
3 cups of Bisquick
8 oz. of shredded mild cheddar cheese.
What you do...
Put the sausage, cheese, and bisquick in a huge bowl. Squeeze, moosh, and squash together until it's all in one big mix with no bit of crumbs...
I really dig this story you're writing. :) Giving Beau a story in the Muppet boarding house. And finding out where he came from. And how these Muppets from other shows keep making appearances. Like Skeeter and Sesame Street gang. I hope you'll continue it soon. :)
I remember that cool skit. And yes, I believe there was a fast foward scene where the kids were getting gumballs.
And did you notice how cheap gumballs and ice cream were back then? Only one penny for a gumball and 10 cents for ice cream? Definitely not like the vending machines we see...
In the Linda Lavin episode when Waldorf and Statler were singing about their lives, Statler said his third wife left him, but then came back. So Statler must've been married 3 times.
Well, I don't remember who the guest star was, but Statler's grandson appeared in the opening number singing, "Why Don't You Get Things Started?" in baby language.
Then it showed Bobby Benson's Baby Band performing and Waldorf found a baby in their box. Statler explains that's his grandson...
I was thinking about the long lives Waldorf and Statler lived and how they talked about little bits of their pasts in certain episodes.
WALDORF'S LIFE:
Waldorf said he was once on the Titanic. And in one episode, Statler told Waldorf he'd better get out his old army uniform, so Waldorf...
That was pretty good. I do like Burl Ives's singing. Especially as the Snowman in that Rudolph special. And seeing Gonzo as a magician was neat. Did he use the same costume when he was going to propose to Madeline Kahn?
The other night, I had this dream that me and my family were on a ferry boat and I saw Dave Goelz performing Gonzo in front of a crowd. We ended up meeting and had a fun time. He even went back home with us. And then I woke up realizing it was just a dream. But it still felt good.
What I really think is funny is when Red runs away all excited shouting. "WOO HOO HOO! WOO HOO HOO! WOO HOO HOO!"
Another funny scene was when Boober wanted to move to the Caves of Boredom, Red had this entire group of Fraggles screaming and jumping up and down. It was like she was...
Yes, my sister and I love that Q cartoon. :) And we always like to reinact that skit with a magnet Q on the fridge and a hat. She played the questioning guy and I played the frustrated guy who pulls his hat down. Our friends always laugh whenever we both do that skit. :)
I remember one classic skit where Telly was going to Mr. Hooper's for some breakfast. Until he saw the CLOSED sign on the door. Telly was worried that Mr. Hooper was closing his store forever. He didn't know was that it was early and Mr. Hooper hadn't come in yet. Then Mr. Hooper opened his...
