    Oscar's sidekicks by themselves

I remember that one! Very cool song sung in the 50s do-wop style. I'd love to see that again. Thanks for reminding me! There was also an episode in the late 90s when Grungetta tried to open a grouch beauty salon. She got Gina to be her first customer. It also included Fluffy. Oscar appeared...

    Organizing a potential school event

Cool, it sounds like you've got most of what you'll need. I guess my only suggestion for showing the clips would be to group some of them together so that you don't have to introduce every single one. For example, you could group all the commercials together, all the Sesame St. stuff, etc.

    Snuffy music

Hi Angie- I remember that music too! Although they played it often, they rarely played the "whole thing." They would only play it for a few seconds and then fade it out. That's the way they did it in episode 2096, the one where Snuffy is first seen by the adults. They play the music for a few...

    Organizing a potential school event

Hi Bob- It sounds like a cool idea! It sounds like you'd like your film to be something that the whole school can enjoy. If that's the case, then you would probably have to talk to both your teacher and the principal about it. (Your teacher may like the idea, but ultimately the principal...

    In Memoriam: Nona Beamer (1924-2008)

Hi ISNorden - I'm also sorry to hear the news. The Hawaii episodes are among my favorites & she was a part of making them that way. She will be missed. I'm betting that now she's someplace even more beautiful than Hawaii. :) bacwardin2007 - I think you're actually thinking of Keola Beamer...

Sesame Workshop Plans to Bring Back "The Electric Company"

Yay! Sounds like a good time. Mr. Knell said that the show will be "very hip and very much speaking to kids today," so I'm guessing that they won't be using many (if any) skits from the old days. But there's always hope, I guess!

    Sarah Brightman, anyone?

Sarah does indeed have a lovely voice. After I became a "Phantom" fan I bought the original Broadway soundtrack and still enjoy listening to it once in a while. In fact, I fear the tape is wearing down by now. :) She's great as Christine, but I also enjoy many of the other singers who have...

    Classic Cartoons in Syndication

Cool, at least that's something! On KTLA over in the L.A. area, they will sometimes do a "Twilight Zone" marathon on July 4 and New Year's eve.

    Classic Cartoons in Syndication

Right, I don't think Eddie would really need to do it again unless he wanted to. I was trying to say that people who had never seen the Little Rascals wouldn't get the most from the joke. It's like Eddie's "Mr. Rogers" parody. It's more funny if you know who Mr. Rogers is!

    Classic Cartoons in Syndication

I'd definitely enjoy seeing some of the old school Bugs Bunnys & Popeye cartoons again. (Nope, I don't have "Boomerang" either!) Even Disney channel doesn't regularly show its classic cartoons anymore. There have been some classic cartoon DVD releases (including one with several of the original...

    the scarcity of green grover

Yes, it's a very dark green. I remember reading something about Godzilla saying that he wasn't actually green but "charcoal gray." Maybe it's the same with Green Grover. :) I don't think Sesame Workshop is intentionally hiding Green Grover. It's just that there were only a limited number of...

    Retro Commercials--What's the Attraction?

Just like with old Sesame or Muppet Show clips, old commercials can bring back good memories (sometimes a few bad ones, too, but that's the way it goes!) I definitely have enjoyed seeking out old commercials on YouTube. Although I haven't found every single one that comes to mind, I've found...

    More Electric Company Memories

Good question- I've heard it used in some of the old Popeye and Bugs Bunny cartoons, so it's been around for a while. Usually sung with those same four notes! I'm wondering if it was part of an old radio show. Anybody know for sure?

    Imagine Segments.

Thanks for the synopsis, Fuzzygobo! That does match up with what I remember, especially the "I want to rest" part.

"Dee, Dee, Dee" Song clip anyone?

If you can pick up a copy of the "Sing the Alphabet" CD or an LP or cassette of "The Muppet Alphabet Album," the song is on there. It's also on the "Bert and Ernie's Greatest Hits" CD. Good luck!

    Imagine Segments.

I definitely remember the Cookie Monster imagination sequence. They would sometimes run it after the "King Minus" cartoon. After the cartoon, Big Bird and Cookie were seen together talking about the cartoon, and Cookie began to imagine "what if everything me touched turned to cookies?" I...

    Question

Right, that's the easiest way. Or, if you have the right connections, you can connect your VCR outputs into the DVD recorder inputs. That should work, too (unless the vhs tape is copy protected!)
