    Linda Bove on TCM

I was watching Turner Classic Movies this morning and happened to catch the last part of a promo for a series of films focusing on "A history of disability in film". Linda Bove was being interviewed in the clip! One of those clips is now on YouTube. That one isn't the same as the clip I saw...

Have all episodes of Sesame Street survived?

Obviously we can't know for sure without working for Sesame Workshop, but I've never heard anything to make me suspect that episodes have been lost. If anything, as Minor Muppetz said, I recall reading that they've been trying to preserve them. I guess it's possible that they re-used video...

Alphabet Album sketches on the show...

Hi Magusdude - I do recall seeing "The Sound of the Letter A" on an early episode back in the day. As I recall, it took place on the street, in front of 123 near the lamp post. Big Bird sang the song to the camera. When the ant came on, the camera showed a close-up shot of the pavement. (I don't...

    Classic Sesame Clips on YouTube

There's a picture of her on this Muppet Wiki page (although she's upside-down). :) I'm guessing she was voiced by Fran Brill. She had a flighty, happy personality & was very pleased to draw the number 11 for us. Her first word in the sketch is a cheery "Hello!" I recall seeing both the English...

Sesame Albums from the 70's, 80's and 90's now available to download

On the Amazon page for the Fairy Tale Album, it describes the "Jack and the Beanstalk" story as being available on "album only" meaning (I assume) that you have to buy the whole album in order to get the track. Could someone who bought the Fairy Tale Album confirm that the "Jack and the...

    Cancelling Cable?

Hear, hear! My family and I have said this for years. This way you don't pay for what you don't want to see. Your price is right, too- at $2 per channel, you could get your 10 favorite channels for $20 a month. I'd probably still have cable if I could get in on a deal like that. Hopefully...

    Cancelling Cable?

A very timely topic- I also gave up my cable earlier this year, and find that I also don't miss it much. I think that's mostly because things have changed for me quite a bit since the days when I would scour the TV listings. There are still good things on, but I just wasn't watching enough TV to...

Video: Fred Get Me A Twenty (20) Sketch

Not at all (as far as I know), I was just amused at his great expression of happiness at such a minor incident as reading a street sign.

    Operation Silly Songs Album Idea

Here are two that I think would work for the overall concept: 1. "Like a surgeon" by Weird Al Yankovick 2. "Doctor Doctor" by the Thompson Twins From there you can go on to the "funny bone" and other assorted parts. :)

    Get me my cane...

I agree that most old-school Atari games are nothing to crow about- especially compared to the video games of today. But keep in mind that Atari and Intellivision were the "X-boxes" of their time. I laugh when I think about the graphics today, but at the time it was easy to believe that the...

Video: Fred Get Me A Twenty (20) Sketch

I recall that one! I don't think it was Joe Raposo playing the man, though. I recall him being a somewhat taller guy with a mustache. Cool background music in that one, though. Anybody have it?

    Get me my cane...

It's a testament to how influential both "Empire" and "Pac Man" were to us- we remember right where we were when we first encountered them. Some quick thoughts: 1. Even though a friend "spilled the beans" about Darth Vader, I still enjoyed "Empire." But it was also one of the first films I...

    Yesterday, Today And Tomorrow

Thanks for letting us know about this. This has been on my "most wanted to see/hear again" clips for a long time. A great song. The version on the "Stars come out" album is just a tiny bit longer (one more chorus at the end).

Video: Fred Get Me A Twenty (20) Sketch

The clip on Youtube is the only one I can recall seeing, but at least according to the poster's sources, there were some others. I'm going to guess they would have had to have disappeared from the show by 1975 or so, leaving only "Fred finds a 20" as the skit that continued to run for a few more...

Video: Fred Get Me A Twenty (20) Sketch

Yeah, I love the moment when he finds the "14." I've never seen anyone so happy to see 14th Street. :) It's so cool to see this again. Thanks to all for bringing this one back via the web!

    Looking for some films

If you look in the "Trading Sesame Street episodes" portion of the Sesame merchandise forum, or in the "Buy, sell or trade" forum, you may find someone who has the episode and would be willing to trade for it. You could also do an online search for someone's trade list on the web. Most trades...

Rare Ernie and Cookie Monster Skit from 1979/1980

Yes, I recall that one! Love the ending line. "Can me have some. . .of the none?" :insatiable: Glad they showed it again.

    Looking for some films

If the spelling bee film you're looking for is the one shown in the episode below, you might be able to trade for it. This episode was shown on "Unpaved," so some fans might have it. http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Episode_2208

Looking for a Pic (Long Shot, I Know...)

Your wish is my command. Hopefully this pic is at least similar to the one you remember: http://heroshaven.blogspot.com/2010/04/sesame-street-political-dreams.html Hopefully that will work this time. It's the current top link on my blog: http://heroshaven.blogspot.com

What was that classical piece on this cartoon?

Cool, I'm glad I remembered correctly. :) Another one I was lucky enough to figure out was the music from the "sad flower" film played in the episode about Mr. Hooper's death. It's a piece by Vivaldi.
