Scatman definitely got around. He also did a cameo appearance on "The Odd Couple" and had a role in "Silver Streak" with Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor.
Maybe somebody in L.A. can answer a question for me. I saw Scatman Crothers' footprints in cement outside the "Movieland Wax Museum" in Buena...
I don't know about the firing, but in Caroll Spinney's book, he mentions that there was some tension between he and Stone. That's too bad, but it certainly doesn't show when watching those old episodes.
Last year I did a blog posting listing the series that I most wanted to see released on DVD. You can read about them here:

The list is now a bit out of date, since the original "George of the Jungle" series has now been...
Wow again! It would definitely be fun to see that one released. I actually saw it before I'd heard of "The Odd Couple," so at first I thought the Odd Ball Couple came first!
Wow, I remember that one! I know that they're going to release the "Pebbles & Bamm-Bamm" show at some point, so it's possible that Yogi's Treasure Hunt may get a DVD release as well.
Your description sounds like a clip we've come to call "Fat cat". You can watch it here, courtesy of Youtube poster wattamack4:

True! We really do need another "Mr. Rogers" who can talk to kids about angry feelings as well as happy ones. I think even Sesame Street is guilty of often ignoring these things.
While no TV show can solve all of a child's problems, at least shows like these can point us in the right direction. Once in a while, I think it's OK for shows to talk about the big issues that may be concerning kids. Not every Sesame St. episode talked about "death" or "marriage," but a few...
I remember the clip. It was from the 1970s, and it was (as best as I recall) the first appearance of a "Countess" on the show. It also featured a small group of muppet musicians playing violins as the Count & Countess talked to each other. I haven't seen it since the early 1980s or so. I wish I...
It's been fun reading these comments. I could probably do a whole blog posting on this subject, but most of what I have to say has already been said here. I'm kind of "off the hook" in that I don't usually watch the new episodes. But having spent most of my years watching the show has sometimes...
That's certainly an issue to keep in mind. I can imagine some people getting upset if they had to convert all their CDs to mp3 files. "But they don't sound as good!" they cry. Again, I would hope that we could retain as much of the original audio quality as possible. Maybe someday they'll create...
Ever since watching "Phantom of the Opera" a few years ago, I've had some daydreams about donning the mask and performing the role. It's a great play & I'd have a lot of fun singing those songs. I've also been wondering about who could play Christine. My favorite pick is probably Courteney Cox...
I just wanted to post a link to Jill Cunniff's blog entry about her father. It contains a detailed obituary:
