"forthcoming Kermit Photo Puppet Replica"
-yeah thats very cool, but anti Henson... I don't think he would have approved it! Muppets are not toys... they are tools of entertainment!
Jim merely used puppets as a way of getting into television. He was not protective of The Muppets at all. He realised that they were a way to make money and a way to entertain. He was not in favour of Muppet Puppets because he thought it might spoil the illusion he took time to create on screen and for no other reason. Muppet toys and puppets have been available since Sesame Street first aired in the States and this new Kermit photo puppet is no different to anything else that has ever been available, only more expensive.

Please try to remember, it was Brian's idea to sell the rights to Disney and seeing he worked with his father on many projects AND became the chairman of Jim Henson Productions, as well as being Jim's son, I think he has more of an idea of what should be happening with The Muppets than you.

The thing we all have to realise is Jim was the driving force behind The Muppets. No Jim equals no driving force. It's kinda like one of your own family dying. You can only remember all the good times and the stories that other people can tell you about that person. You can't expect anyone else to realistically take on the role of that person. Disney are doing their best but The Muppets aren't their main concern. The Muppets are just a side-line to Disney and they will do there best to deliver what they can but not if it will jeopardise releases based on their own characters.
I for one am not interested in seeing new Muppet releases anyway. I would much rather see every single clip, tv show, movie reel and cut scene that is still available to be released somehow so we can get back to how The Muppets were in their prime!

Well this is the same agruement that people all over this forum have been having for awhile now.

I'll just say this for now, I'm very hopeful in Disney that the season two set will be out for everyone very soon. After all season one was a huge seller for them, why wouldn't they want to put season two out, and the more the first two sell the more of a chance their will be of the other three seasons out.

Also I do agree that the season one set was one of the best Muppet dvd releases ever, with only probably the Fraggle Rock season sets beating it. I mean even if their were some cuts, it's still the first and maybe only time, we'll have the all the first season episodes out on DVD, not to mention the pilot and picth reel. How any Muppet fan can still there and say it's not one of the best Muppet realeases of all time is something I don't understand, just because of a few cuts.

Hey JJand Janice, don't forget the original opening sequences! Most Muppet Show re-releases featured the season three opening sequence no matter which season the episode was from. It's great to see these first shows (pretty much) in their entirety.

It is mainly. Our friend Robin is very concerned that DIsney will not release season two as promised. I hope for all our sakes that he is wrong.

I wish he was wrong. But he's right.
Having said that, since they're so reluctant to fork any capital to release their classic material, think they'll even dream of producing anything new again?

The only way I can ever see that happening - if another company buys them. They're a commdity now. Like a recording artist's back-catalouge. They're the Beatles, and Disney's treating them like the Monkees!!!
