Very true, I always liked the adults interacting with the Muppets on Sesame Street. You could tell the human cast really admired the comic timing and charm of the Muppets. The woman who played Maria said once that she wasn't sure how to talk to the puppets at first. But she soon realized their role was to be the "straight man" to the funny characters.

Bert and Ernie are so adorable! Lol :stick_out_tongue: :frown:

"Ernie, it's just a little movie about the number 2, life must go on!"

"Did you know that there are two of us, Bert?"

And I hope you get to see Old School eventually, Skye!

Well, I though that the adults on the show were naturals with the puppets, bt I though that the puppets and the adults were both really good with the kids, too!

Yeah, they make it look easy to work with kids, but it can be quite a challenge. Filming can take a long time, kids get restless or their attention wanders. And the actors have to try and get through a sketch on the number 2 with all the kids focused and entertained.

I liked it when Ernie thought everyone enjoyed playing in the tub with their Rubber Duckie, and one kid said, "I don't even have a Rubber Duckie!" Lol

Yeah, we only see what they sorted out in the editing room. Of course...it's also a difficult time keeping the adults focused and entertained, the way I see it.

What I enjoyed was how much Old School SS seemed to focus on cooperation. Obviously, they were hoping it would influence kids during the trouble times of the late '60s. And while things are a lot better now, I still think SS should continue to encourage cooperation among children.

"Sesame Street we are lucky. We can teach the kids about how to live with each other...the sooner you realize that, you can get onto other important things. " Great quote!

A great quote, compliments of you-know-who.

Now, unfortunately, it seems that a lot of kids' shows really don't stress things like cooperation and understanding and things like that. Come to think of it, they really don't stress good writing and dialogue either, but that's another matter.

Let's see...that quote came from the profile of Richard that The Record ran in November 1985, the one posted on the Your Face! site. Fun article, one of my favorites.

Absolutely, entertainment has taken a downward turn in recent years. There's no morality and even less decent writing (and interestingly, bad writing often leads to the absence of morality!).

I've often tried to figure out what went wrong, things seemed to be going so well for awhile. Or perhaps that was an illusion and things were just building up. Maybe there needs to be a dark period in order for a bright period to be fully appreciated.

Absolutely. You guys are so right, and it makes me miss the older, much better quality things. But, when things are real bad, they can only get better, right? Hopefully, anyway.

On the other hand, entertainment is very important, but it's not the most important thing in life. If nothing else, a dark period should teach us to seek out more crucial things, like family and a productive life etc.

Well yeah, obviously entertainment isn't the most important thing. But, it can be nice to have that outlet to help you relax and maybe take a quick break from everyday life occasionally. And currently, if that outlet is generally low quality, it's kinda sad. But that's why we seem to like older stuff a little more, hehe.
