Dude, I've been saying this for years. The thing that I hate the most about it, not just the negative stigmas and stereotypes associated with it that don't really apply to me, is that the term "Millennial" just doesn't sound very accurate for someone like me. I'm thirty-fricken-one, but these stigmas and stereotypes mostly apply to college-aged kids who are like a decade younger than me . . . plus, "Millennial" sounds more like it should apply to "Zoomers" instead, considering they were born in and grew up during the new millennium, whereas a lot of Millennials were born in and grew up during the 80s and 90s; when I hear the term "Millennial," I feel like it should apply to, say, my niece and nephew - she was born in 2000, he was born in 2003.
Apparently, we're called "Millennials" because the majority of our generation came of age during the turn of the millennium.
