Too true. However, on the artistic side - I would say it's one of the best comic book style movies. And it was much better than Johnny Neumonic.

The animation category is nuts. Let's just nominate every animated film that's come out? Stupid. Lilo & Stich should win (it was great), although I hear Spirited Away is fantastic.

Spirited Away is beyond fantastic, IMO. For an anime film to be nominated for an Oscar, especially a Miyazaki film... Lilo and Stitch would be my second choice for winner, but I'll be glad if anything beats out Ice Age. I swear, I think they nominated it just because it was the only complete CGI movie that came out this past year.

As for Eminem winning the Academy Award for best song...No. No, anyone but him. The academy isn't that tactless. Personally I'm rooting for Paul Simon. I know not a lot of people here would enjoy the Wild Thornberrys movie if they saw it. But Paul's song "Father and Daughter" is just so beautiful. It got the shaft at the Emmys earlier this year, and I'll be ticked if it gets shafted at the Oscars.

i really don't care if eminem wins an oscar for best song. i just think the academy needs to loosen up a bit and surprise the heck out of everyone if they do decided to give hoodlum eminem the award!

Sprited Away must win or I will use Waffles of Doom on people . Treasure Planet was a box office bomb and the cat plus dog equals kids was extremely disturbing to me.
Lilo and Stitch is a fine filmthat is okay to me if it wins.
Ice Age was good butit seems to copy shrek and Monsters INC at some plot points.
Spirit stallion of the cinnamon was just a horsy movie
Sprited Away was a extremely good film.
