Well, I now see that it's going to be 3 DVDs, but 300 minutes long. I'm afraid something tells me that it will be a compilation of clips, and not entire episodes. I mean, it gives a little more information, but not that much.

If each episode is close to 60 minutes, then 60 times five is 300, so the set could include five hour-long episodes. I don't know if the running timke counts features (if there are any). That could get us one episode each from the first five seasons.

I think there will be full episodes. If they were only going to release a compilation of clips, then it would probably only be one disc.

But I do find it strange that they're being so secretive about this set, and yet they've released all the details about the new Electric Company set that comes out about a month later.

Well, it's two different companies handling each set:

Shout Factory is doing Electric Company and Sony/Wonder is doing Sesame.

Here's some additional info on the Sesame Street Old School box set...

Five complete episodes from the series's first five years are included in a three disc set. Features appearances by James Earl Jones, Jesse Jackson, Johnny Cash, and Jackie Robinson, plus such fondly remembered segments as "Rubber Duckie" and "C Is for Cookie." 7 hrs. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English.
So it sounds like we're getting around five hours of complete episodes with two hours of segments and clips and/or bonus material.

I don't see those words anywhere in the Amazon description.

UPDATE: I did find that passage on Movies Unlimited. Mystery solved.

Good, so that question has been answered. However, Amazon says the set is 300 minutes long. Looks like we may have another mystery to solve.

I'm guessing that Amazon only counted the combined running times of the actual episodes.
