And yes, one of the coolest things about the Muppets was seeing them juxtaposed against ornate or unexpected backdrops and settings. Like that Cosby show you mentioned, or Nightline, or Martha Stewart, or any number of talk and game shows.

And they have changed over the years as well. As a child, I preferred Ernie to Bert. Now, while I still love Ernie dearly, I have discovered just how funny Bert really is! But I suppose my all-time favorite is (and always will be) Kermit.
