Hey gang,
Just wondering what everyone thinks of the new design of the Chef on the latest "From The Balcony" with S&W. I think Baretta really nailed the voice and that made me happy, as did his last crack at Rowlf. I honestly think he should stick with those kinds of covers, as I don't personally like any of his signature characters, especially the one that gets the most attention, quite undeservingly in my opinion, often overshadowing much better characters. Anyways, I'm not too keen on the look of the new head. I don't want to get you all worried, because for the most part, he looks just as he has for years, but something maybe with his eyebrow positioning seems off to me. I wish they could really try to keep it consistent, just I don't like the weight-loss Bunsen or the post fourth season TMS Waldorf. So, yeah, feel free to share your thoughts regarding the Chef or any other changes in puppet looks over the years, as it's always an interesting topic.

Sorry, but what does this have to do with anything here? Also, he didn't screw up Fozzie. The voice have slipped a couple times and sounded more like Piggy, but the voice was good and the personality was definitely there (as Fozzie and Lion at the same time). Plus, it is his first shot at performing him. And for the first time, it was pretty **** good. Just give him a little credit. I think him and Steve Whitmire have done the best jobs at taking over characters, especially with such huge shoes to fill as Frank Oz and Mr. Henson.

First off, this thread is about the new chef puppet. It is not here for anyone wanting to find a random oppertunity to slag off Eric. Eric isn't even involved with the Movies.com reveiws, so what the heck do you think you're doing???

Eric Jacobson's been doing Fozzie and Piggy for a while now, with the biggest production prior to this being IAVMMCM. Either way, that's beside the point. I would like to hear others' thoughts on the look of the new Chef puppet, but I can also understand talking about new performers taking over old characters, as I mentioned the newest take on Chef's voice probably being the closest we've had to Jim. I didn't like all the "okey-dokey"s, though, because it felt like Bill needed to insert Pepe's trademark into another character, albeit in a modified form. Anyways, it's still worth a look, as these clips are turning out bettert than I expected, based on the initial test, though I still don't like some of the potty humoresque lines they've been giving mostly to Statler. So, yeah, Chef, other puppet redesigns, and character re-assignments, all up for grabs. Now go for it!

Chef always said "Okie dokie" long before Pepe was ever created.

Der flim is okie dokey!

I just watched it now, and did not notice that he said that often. Pepe says "hokay", and to me it doesn't sound alike at all.

I actually was really disspointed that Pepe didn't show up for the DVD review. That's my favourite part. I sent in feedback about it.

I hope they can get other characters to do the mini segments other than Bill Baretta's. Maybe it is just easier to use him because he is more available than others. Steve Whitmire and Eric Jacobson are both committed to Sesame Street as well. Probably doesn't take much time to tape these movies.com segments though. Maybe they can get Sal to make an appearance or Scooter. I'm sure they also choose the character that goes well with the movie they are plugging and what they can come up with in the writing. Miss Congeniality 2 was a perfect choice for Pepe.

My theory is that they have the 3 of them on contracts, which would explain why no other performers have showed up yet.
Anyone else notice that the address is movies.go.com? That means that Disney's got it.
