First it's Fozzie. How van you talk about hischaracter when you can't spell his name. :stick_out_tongue:

In AVMMC Fozzie felt AWEFUl for a reaosn. He just lost the enter theater AND the money. If he hadn't been upset it would have been out of character. AVMMC wasthe best Fozzie performance in years.

I agree with timrikthegorf, would Fozzie not have been upset under the circumstances? And wouldn't anyone have failed under the circs?

I know I would have, and I would have also given up waaay before Fozzie did. I wouldn't have gone throu the lasors, even from my friends. Fozzie did, thats why it was his best piece of acting since Jim died.

Very Good Point

I re-watched it’s a very Merry Muppet Christmas last night.

It seems to me that I am doing a very bad job of expressing myself. I am sorry I made a mistake in spelling Fozzie's name, and I am sorry if you are all angry with me.

I think there are some very terrible, adult and just plain wrong moments in that Muppet special (IAVMMC). I mean Fozzie tries to explain to Kermit what happened, and Kermit just yells at him and tells him that there is no time for another one of his stories.....what stories does he usually tell? You all seem to know him so well, so honestly what are they talking about here. It kills me inside when he says "Does it help that I feel really bad?"

Is that what friends are supposed to do to each other, kick you when you are down. I mean I just don't get it. I also think it is kind of unfair of Kermit to be so mean to his friends, shouting at Piggy to get away from him, and to Fozzie, when they are trying to help him out, to tell him it will be ok. Kermit does not handle the roll reversal well at all.

Other things that shock me about this special are the reference to Absinthe, Pepe getting a topless dancer license for the theater (just in case), Scooter cage dancing, Mrs. B. leaning Pepe into her cleavage implying his Christmas Bonus, Mrs. B's assistant turning every thing she says in to a sexual innuendo, Johnny saying that Kermit must be drunk to kiss a pig on the chops like that, And all of that horrible stuff with that French guy and the 12 Days of Christmas. Even for Gonzo that was way over the top and just stupid. Sam The Eagel talking out how he will pay for his Propecia, I mean give me a break.

I mean isn't the title I little misleading, it is not very Merry at all just kind of sad and dark, even the end is not a typical "Big Production Number" happy ending. I have a hard time feeling good for our friends and triumphant over the eveil, I just feel kind of falt.

As I mentioned before there just was not a strong connection between the characters. Piggy completely leaves the show because she (thinks) she has a better TV deal; Kermit has to beg her to come back. Granted Piggy was a flop anyway because she was trying to spot light to much. Kermit questions weather or not he has done the right thing letting Fozzie take the money to Mrs. B. Pepe tells Statler and Waldorf to SHUT UP OK.

Over all we are going to disagree on this subject and that is really ok with me. If you guys like this Muppet special then that is great. To me Jim Henson held higher standards for his creative work, but I understand that the younger generation has a different view of what is and is not morally and ethically acceptable now days. I do not like it, but am willing to leave it go with that.

Ok. Doctor. At last, I do see your point. Much of VMC shooked me, and made me feel badly. But, there were good moments. And I can only say that I hope that WoO is better.

Also, comparing VMC to KSY, KSY came out much. much worse in Muppet terms, and that was for kids and had no adult humor at all.

As I see it, WoO will probably come somewhere between KSY,(in terms of the Puppets not being so good from what we've seen so far), VMCn that it may have too much adult humor), MTI, (in that it is not a traditional telling of Oz), and probably a little of MFS to mess up the mixture.

But, I am also holding out hope that there will be some bits which lighten theheart, make you cry, and smile, and that Muppet magic will stil be there lingering in the background like Beauregard on in VMC always lingering in the background waiting to be usefull.

BEa:zany:{Or to have a line which they didn't give him. He COULD have had a line, but that's another story}regard

EXACTLY!
Not having seen KSY I can not make as many comparisons as you have. But truly I am hoping respectfully for the same things with Muppets Wizard of OZ. A little less of the adult potty humor would really be good. As I have mentioned before The Muppet Show always had things that were geared for an older audience, it just wasn't so in your face all the time.

I really like the new Fozzie and the New Piggy; there voices are very close to the original Frank OZ Vocals. Sam needs work on his look and his voice along with a few of the others, at least I think he does.

I didn't find anything shocking about AVMMC.

What reference to Absinthe was there and what is Absinthe?

You have to take the Kermit and Fozzie exchange in the context of what was going on. Kermit had just lost the theater and the money and basically EVERYTHING! He simply didn't want to hear Fozzie's explanations. You've never been so frazzled and yelled at a friend? The whole point pf the move was Kermit having a break down because he thought he had lost everything and the lesson he learned was that the theater does not matter. After he learns his lesson he's not made at Fozzie anymore. You can't take one part and say it was bad when that one part resolved later.

Pepe mentioning a topless dance club license is not and should not be shpocking. Now if Pepe game into the scene with a stripper on each arm (that's 4 not 2) then I can see your point. It was just a side comment and we all know Pepe is a more adult character. Just like Bean was the embodiment of cuteness of the muppets, Pepe is the embodiment of the adult side of the muppets. That is why he can say the things he does and it's why Bean can be so horribly cute. Pepe can tell Statler to shut up, Fozzie can't. And if you find Pepe saying shut up to be horribly offensive, you really need to get out more (no offense).

Anything that happened inthe alternate world was suppose to be disturbing. If it shocked you, good. THat was the point. It was suppose otbe a really awful world so that Kermit would want to live to save his friends.

Why is Propecia shocking? It's a hair growth pill. Sam is a bald eagle. I thought it was funny. Did you confuse it with Viagra or something?

The muppets would drink, use guns, and be sexually suggestive all the time. They did it on TMS plenty of times. It was in TMM. In GMC Gonzo made cat calls to the models. The Muppets were never sqeaky clean. I don't know why people thinkthey were or should be.
