Thats the bad thing about online dating itself, too many people turn out to be spam, and they keep lying about everything. I would never really online date though. I would rather meet the person.
Well the point is ya do eventually meet. You have to just go with a gut instinct, use that sixth sense/intense foresight. Really vet the person, truly get to know them on all levels. Thats why long regular nightly talks on the phone is very important. No chat/emails, but phoning. Hand written letters are also good.
You can get to know someone pretty well that way.

I think the great thing is about forum relationships, they see your inner beauty before the outside. Thats the case with me, im a better looking person on the inside, than on the outside... ((shrugs))
dude, you're only 15 man. I was 300 pounds and on the verge of not lasting very long due to severe health problems when I first came on Muppet Central back in 1998. 8 years later and 110 pounds later, I feel younger and much more confident/proactive than I was in my late teens/early 20's.
But yeah, meeting someone online sometimes is the only way to truly meet someone with similair interests and chemistry. I met my first gf online, and really the two relationships Ive had started off online first(I only consider it a real relationship once youve met the person in person)

I've met a lot of girls here: Cindy Chapman, Emmy, Jackie, MrsPepper, Lisa, Vibs, Beth, Sara, Skye, to name a few, but I don't think I'd want to "meet" them the way you guys are talking about, and I'm sure they feel the same about me.
Whoah, was there a Muppety convention I didn't know about? I'd like to meet everyone on here...it's nice to run into people who have a deeper love/knowlege of all things Muppety than "oh yeah, I remember those two old guys"

My personal belief is that it takes a geeky guy to put up with a geeky girl and vice versa, so bring 'em on!
Well, not so much put up with, but geek out with over shared passions!

I was reading the posts about girls liking geeky guys and I have to say, I'm one of them. My husband is the biggest geek ever but that's what attracted me to him and why I love him. So geeky guys, have no fear, girls like me do exist and I'm sure you'll find someone someday!
Oh it's definately good to hear from the female perspective. It's surreal for some, even me sometimes to think there's girls that prefer a guy with slightly "nerdier" interests...just given how seemingly rare they seem to be(tho I always have my geekdar in check) or that society and friends may try and make us want to go for the girl that we really have nothing in common with.

Wow, I'm making Snowth an appointment with a psychiatrist before he decides to break into Kathy's house and write "I LOVE YOU FOREVER" in lipstick on her bathroom mirror.
Whose Kathy?
