Hmmm... *Tapping fingers on the SS brick wall, standing behind it and kind of waiting...
Wonder if there'll be more story posted soon. Oh well, you can drop me a line if you need to talk about developing the rest of the story Sara.

Thank her for getting me out of my slump/writer's block! I'm currently writing the latest chapter today. There will most definately be a new chapter today!!

Possibly two! Hope you enjoy them!

Chapter Six

Doc was asleep at his desk, hoping the plumber would come soon. His pink lemonade was already hot on the table, and Sprocket was laying on top of his blanket panting. Sprocket heard a car driving up the long path; and started to bark, and tug at Doc's pantsleg.

"Huh?" Doc started to get himself awake. "Oh it's the plumber! He's finally come Sprocket!"

Sprocket barked happily, and was nearly running circles around the workshop in happiness. The plumber came up to the door, carrying a bag of tools; and a larger box of materials. Doc went and opened the door, smiling broadly that help had finally arrived.

The plumber started to smile, until he saw who it was. "Oh, you again. Lemme guess, you tinkered with something you really shouldn't have tinkered with, huh?"

Doc smiled sheepishly, and stepped aside allowing the plumber to enter into the workshop. "Yes, I thought I could fix it myself, but I didn't have the correct materials, and the book was so old---" The plumber cut him off, with a deep frown as he saw the damage.

"You managed to do all this, Doc Christian?" He grunted as he set up a small ladder, and started to look at the main pipe coming from the water heater. "It's almost damaged beyond repair. That's gonna cost you..."

"Oh, the heater is also broken as well. The water was ice cold when it was coming out..." Doc said slowly, looking at the damage as well. There was a large puddle of water on the floor now, trickling down towards the Fraggle hole; and was still slowly spreading across the floor.

"It's hot, it should be ice cold, Mr. Christian..." The plumber shot him an odd look, then he frowned again. "I don't have one on the truck, but I'll fix what's wrong now, then I'll come back with a new water heater for you." He started to type out some figures on a caculator, then he showed Doc the amount.

"1,200 dollars!" He outright blanched at the price estimate the plumber had given him. "Well....well, I'll just pay for the thing and install it myself!"
"Mr. Christian...I really don't think you should do that...."

Gobo got up to the Fraggle Hole that was in Doc's workshop, and he watched tentatively as a new silly creature dressed in a white outfit was talking to Doc. He saw Doc going red in the face, almost yelling now at this new creature.

"Gobo, what's happening? Are the water pipes fixed yet?" Red said, sullenly, not caring to look out of the hole.

"No, Red. A new silly creature is out there, and the one we know is getting really angry at him." He was almost standing outside of the hole now, and ducked back inside as part of the pipe almost hit him. The water heater had pratically exploded underneath the workshop, sending it's acending pipes across the room.

Red perked up, immediately, and ran outside to where Gobo had walked outside again. He was staring at Doc and the other man. Doc was on the floor, holding his head, and the other man was also beside him, looking incrediblely dazed. Two parts of the pipes had struck both of them, chunks of pipes littered about the room. Sprocket was barking up a storm, checking that both of them were okay. Icy water was spilling out from the now destroyed water heater, the pipes shut-down valve had broken down competely.

"Are you okay Gobo? What happened out there?" She said, standing worried at the entrence to the hole. "Gobo?!?"

He was fixed where he stood, staring at Doc. He was hurt. Not badly, but there was a thin trail of blood creeping down the side of his face. He saw Doc's hand slowly go to his wound, and touch it. Gobo saw him whince visibly. Their provider of water, which was pivotial to their radishes....was hurt.

"He's hurt, Red." Gobo finally turned around and looked at Red, worried. He started to walk back towards the hole, to deliver the bad news to the rest of the Fraggles, until he noticed his feet were wet. "What the--?"

"Oh, no....the water's flooding out and onto the floor Gobo!" Turning around, Red noticed it was heading towards the fastest way out of the workshop. Which was down their hole, to Fraggle Rock. "I guess we're going to get the water we need, Gobo..."

"This isn't the way to get it though! It's gonna cause some trouble if we don't hurry! We've gotta warn everybody on the lower levels to go for higher ground."

He started to run back towards the hole, as they started to make their way down through the mayraid of pipes back to the great hall.
Red was almost running to keep up with him, as she frowned looking around.

The pipes were creaking and groaning, as the valves had somehow shut on all of them, and the water's pressure was increasing in the resulting pipes surrounding the house as well.

"These pipes act as if they're going to blow as well, Gobo!"

As if prompted, one of them did blow it's seal, only a few feet in front of them. Water was flooding the pathway, running down towards the Great Hall at an incredible rate. Gobo took Red's hand tightly, continuing to run.

'We're just outrunning the water. If we can't hurry faster, we'll be surfing into great hall instead of running!' Gobo thought, frowning.

He glanced back at Red, who was looking a little scared now, the water level had risen to nearly their waists now, they were almost swimming. The water was trying to rise higher, if it weren't for the many caverns surrounding them, it would have been up to their heads now.

Red stumbled, and fell into the rushing water, her hand broke free from Gobo's and the current was too strong to swim against. She was tossed and tumbled about like a rag fraggle in the swirling pools; she tried to get her footing many times, gasping for breath.

Gobo used all his strength to try to get closer to Red, as the current pulled her farther up the caverns then he was. He let his footing go, and he plunged into the water, following her as best he could. He was stronger then she was, and he was thinking why he seemed to be doing better then she was.

'She's terrified.' That thought rang through his head, and he brought himself above the surface just in time to see something he had hoped he would have never seen in his life.

'PAM! WHACK!'

Those sounds made Gobo's heart lurch upwards to his throat.

Red stopped struggling in the water, dipping below the surface; out of his line of sight.

First things first... Yaeeeeeey!! New chapter!

That out of thw ay... Few corrections I spotted.
Everybody has a tendency of writing "blanched", when it should be "blanked".
When Gobo saw Doc hurt... "pivotial" should be "pivotal" instead.
When Gobo and Red are running through the pipes... "mayriad" should be "myriad" instead.

Now that that's out of the way...
This is such a powerful chapter Sara. Doc's seen lounging at the beginning, in stark contrast to the end of the chapter.
Funny how the plumber's upset with Doc tinkering with the pipes again. And yet, you've captured something seldom seen from the show that would fit in quite perfectly if it had ever been done on the show itself.
Gobo and Red watching the scene... You get a sense that there's a connection between Gobo and Doc when the Fraggle's concerned about the silly creatures, especially calling/thinking of Doc as the provider of their water.
Finally... Hu boy! Action galore trying to outrun/outsurf/outswim the rapid currents of the water threatening to flood the Rock.
Oh Gobo... Hurry and rescue Red, I'm so afraid and worried about the two of them.

I don't completely understand. Perhaps you could shed a little more light on the subject?

Also, readers? More story tomorrow morning. Gotta go do some stuff tonight, and I won't be back on later.
