Chapter Three
Doc walked into the workshop, a large bag in his hands; full of tools. Sprocket was already behind the countertop, playing as if he were Doc.
"Sprocket, old boy; just what are you doing?" Doc asked, a curious look on his face.
"Ruff! Ruff woof!" He exclaimed, holding up a screwdriver and a metal crimper. A trickle of water was trailing down the wall, from the pipes.
"Oh no! The water heater's overworked...and you've been trying to fix it, huh Sprocket?" He replied, noticing what his faithful, if not long-suffering pet was trying to do for him.
Sprocket nodded, as Doc slipped off his cardigan; and then took the screwdriver and metal crimp from him. He ended up having to turn off the water for a few moments, so he'd be able to work on it.

"This is wonderful!"
"So cooling!"
"Thanks John!"
Many of the fraggles in the pool were having a great time, the water cooled them off; and they were able to also help Red! Or so they thought. The water continued to heat up, and was starting to effect even the well water of the Gorgs...

"Junior!? Go get me and your Ma a tall glass of water!" Pa Gorg exclaimed, as he sat in the shade of the small house.
Junior was sprawled out on a chair, with his Ma beside him. He shifted only slightly, and looked over at Pa for a moment.
"But Pa! It's so hot out dere!" He whined, leaning back again in his chair.
"It may be hot out there, son; but it'll get more hot on yore behind if you don't get going!!" He said, standing up threateningly.
"I'm going Pa! I'm going!" He pratically ran outside of the house, then started grumbling to himself. "Stupid Pa...he can get this wata himself. It's just so hot out here..."
He finally got to the well, with a bucket in hand. He started to pump the water, and it came out into the bucket. As he was going back towards the house, he lifted the bucket up to his mouth; and took a few sips.
"Bwahhaa! This stuff is weely hot!" He opened his mouth a few times, then picked at his tongue for a second. "Fur?"
He looked at his fingers, quite fasinated for only a moment, as his Pa was walking outside.
"Junior! What is the matter out here? Where's that water? Your Ma and I are about to pass out from this heat, don't you realize that?" He was fuming mad, but more worried because Ma really did need some water.
"That watas no good, Pa! It's hot, and there's someting in it too." He handed the bucket to his Pa, who then took a swig out of it. He too made the same face as Junior had made, then handed the bucket back to him.
"Then draw some fresh water, Junior! We need it!" He said, as he walked back into the shade of the house.
"Okay, General Daddy!" Junior said, saluting him before he turned back to the pump. "Get more wata for Mommy and Pa!"

"Oh, John! Look what's happening!" Darla said, as she leaned over one of the rock edges, looking down into the pool. The water's level was going down.
"That human on the outside, his water will come down soon enough. It'll fill back up, and it'll be cold again." John remarked, as he was laying out on the rock, drying off. His shirt, and jacket were beside him as well.
"Just wait for it, girls. It shouldn't take too long." He said, closing his eyes again; this time enjoying the heat.

Sprocket was barking at the phone, daring it to ring. Doc had to break down and call the plumber, as his tinkering broke the water heater. And to save water flooding the basement of the house, he shut off the water completely.
"It shouldn't take too long, Sprocky. He said he'll come in about 20 minutes." Doc said, as he continued on his bookshelf.
Sprocket moaned, scraping his dish along the floor in agitation. Doc had forgotten to refill his dish before he shut off the water; so for the moment, he was without it.
"Like I said Sprocket, just wait for it!" Doc said, without looking up from the bookshelf. He had throught Sprocket was doing that because he hated to wait for anything.
