"any more news on this subject?"
That's the understatement of the year! Ha! Henson is content with silence. Who knows what's up with this film at the moment.

I'd love to see a Kira 12 inch figurine with unfolding wings that are true or identical to the puppet in the film. I'd also like to see a Jen 12 inch figurine as well. I'd love to buy a shard replica made of glass.

With The Spiderwick Chronicles about to premiere, I am getting quite anxious in regards to more information with this sequel. I'd love to see SOMETHING more.

Laszlo, you're a master. You should be working for a studio. I am envious. I've always wanted to do stuff like this, but alas, I don't have a teacher, nor do I know where to begin.
Bravissimo!

Thanks for the link Leanne, these images have actually been around for sometime. They're quite interesting and really showcase, more then anything, how'd Genndy & Co. would go about utilizing CGI to render these backgrounds. Sets of this nature would be near impossible. I hope however, when it...
The problem with a show of this magnitude is that, unless they went the fully CGI route, there is no way that they could have produced a film, of quality, with the budget constraints they have to work with, in time enough to be a sizable contender with other films.
In terms of sheer work, I'd...
I'm definitely stoked to hear them answering a few questions about POFDC, it's promising. All of the email they receive should solidify for them how anticipated this film is.
Time for the next step, an official site.

I wouldn't say the Fantasy genre has come to a standstill. There have been some underperforming films, Stardust, The Golden Compass and a couple of others, but there have also been Triumphs, such as the aforementioned Pan's Labyrinth, The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, and a few more.
The...
It would be quite interesting if the creature shop tackled a film that involved mostly humans, and yet, these humans are made out of puppets. We're in an age where everything is being explored through the computer, but a feature film that involved life-like human puppets would be quite amazing.
It's still isn't making logical sense. When the comic-con footage premiered almost 18 months ago, there was obvious evidence of puppet performance footage, the puppets themselves, etc... Fast forward, 2008, and physical production hasn't started? The last official report [or one of them]...
18 to 24 months away? Where did you come up with that estimate gelflingwaldo? Last I heard, the film was due for a 2009 release. 18 months would mean at least 2010, and nowhere has that been said. Last I read "Everything was back on track" and from what I gathered, based off of earlier reports...
Yes, it is perfectly normal, I think the problem is, or, the issue for me is, it's been over two years, and with the exception of the leaked comic-con video, and the 2-3 images released via JHC, there's been nothing, and yet, they've been in production for some time. I know I'm just impatient...
I wonder what a Steven Spielberg film would be like if he died and didn't direct it, yet it was called "a film by Steven Spielberg"?
That's the problem. Jim Henson died, tragically, unexpectedly. Jim Henson was the pivot point, and without him we have talented puppeteers, but that's about it...
And all they can continue to do it seems [Genndy, Henson & Co.] os stay silent, essentially SNUBBING the enormous fanbase this film already has.

For the record, Brian Froud was not rejected from the DC2 project, in fact, his participation was a prerequisite to Genndy directing the film.
That aside, the issue here really goes to the core of the Henson company and the Henson family. Clearly Lisa & Brian Henson, growing up in their...
The issue with MirrorMask isn't the story, it's the production value/s. Period.
MirrorMask is marred by poorly rendered CGI and creature effects that don't, for the most part, blend well within their environment.
The issue at hand is really The Dark Crystal. That film is standard for...
I wish I could be confident in Genndy, but only seeing his animation work, I have nothing to base my confidence in, the reason being that this sequel deals with elements outside of his animation expertise.
I'm not at all saying that he's a hack or incapable, I just haven't seen anything with...
