Hmmmm. I remember an old 'Sesame Street Treasury' story where there was a pirate who stole all things starting with P. He said he wouldn't stop until somebody said the secret P word. Then one boy said 'please.' Then he stopped. I'm sure that's not the same one you're talking about. But it...
No. I don't think he sang anything. I think he just tap danced and made balloon animals. I could be wrong though. I do remember seeing him on the ukelele. I'm not sure that was "King Tut" he sang though. I might want to check that again.
<<It's equally as funny though when there are guests who seem to fit right in and even out-weird the Muppets. Ex: Peter Sellers, Ruth Buzzi>>
A few I can think of who fit that category are Steve Martin and Madeline Kahn. They seemed weirder than the Muppets at least in the opening scenes.
Just a few comments here. As far as I know, Pepe didn't really become what he is today on MT. He was just a sidekick to Seymour. I thought Pepe's personality was established more on "Muppets from Space." I'd kind of like to see more of Andy and Randy pig though. They weren't really in...
I can add a few to the list. There was Diana Ross. When Kermit said he would do "Pigs in Space." After he left, she said, "I hate 'Pigs in Space.' What am I doing on this crummy show." There was also a guest who was talking to her agent during the show's opening and said "You gotta work...
Well, here's another possibility. Maybe next season they won't have those 'happy, healthy' openings, so they'd have more time to show the complete version of the theme. But that's pretty unlikely, considering they don't do that for season 34 eps.
Yeah. They should at least maybe show more seasons that haven't been shown in a while, like seasons 33 and 35 instead of airing the same tired old episodes over and over again. At least that might tide us over until the new season begins.
I don't think Boober would make up something like that. It is interesting information though. I would like to read about it on an official site if possible.
I agree. I could see Northern Calloway freaking out like that. Except since he's not on the show any more, they'd have to use another character. Also, a "Hollywood Squares" parody would be a good idea. After all they had "Squeal of Fortune" and "To Tell a Face."
I never really thought of that. Kind of reminds me of the opening to the last season of the "Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show" when all the characters kept morphing into other characters.
Alright, let me try one:
Take away the G- in Gobo and replace it with a B- to make Bobo.
That's all I...
Oh, you're thinking of "It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie." That one aired on NBC a few years back. It's available on DVD, so you might want to check your local video store. It's really a good one.
Yeah, that kind of bothers me, because I'm more familiar with the Big Bird voice we know today. Hopefully he'll improve the voice over the years. About him singing, he is pretty good with the "Journey to Ernie" song. Hopefully, they'll have him sing more on the show.
Well, you have to admire Carroll's dedication. I mean he continues with Big Bird because he wants to, not because he's required too. Unlike Frank Oz who could still perform his characters if he wanted to, but now is pursuing other projects.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with that. With...
Wow! Panera Bread in which location? It must be interesting to meet a Muppateer in person. I don't know what Matt looks like, so I probably wouldn't have known him if I saw him. That must have been a great experience.
By the way, in answer to the post about Carroll doing Big Bird's voice...
Well, I guess it makes sense that storylines would be repeated. After all, it's hard to keep track of everything that happened in 36 years. Besides, later shows are watched by new generations of children, so they didn't see the earlier shows.
