where in my answer did i say i would not give advice????
what i said is im not going to give you evry little tidbit of info about building a puppet, You clearly read only what you wanted to read, and not what i actually wrote.

Give them advice on how to build a puppet and sure, they may not...
there is a big difference between school and being told how to do something,
first of all at school u are given basic skills and then they are expanded on thru the years , and a doctor or surgeon, actully learns alot thru working with mentor and learing anaotomy , studying books and then...
sorry for the lack of a reply here, i have been sick, and away from my computer.
any how, it would be helpful to know what the puppet needs to do,
color?size?
in the end there isnt much you can do to make it last to long, hopefully your performer will treat the puppet right, and do his...
my only thought on this is that learning something for yourself, instead of being told is much more important in the long run , it trains your mind to think, and expand, and to find new solutions for things,
if you are just told how to do something i dont think u are really learning.
but...

i imagine they just didnt bother developing him because he was just sort of a member of the band(sort of like the cool background...
parody is considered free speech, so when u are making fun of something it is clear that you are not representing that company,. or person, or character.
you do need to be careful about it, but generally its is looked upon as being ok.
no it isnt, but if your just playing with your friends and not making money off it then i dont think u need to worry, its when you sell your stuff, or advertise that you do birthday partys with (insert muppet name here), then yes you are breaking copyright and trademark laws,
of course...
on avenue q we just used some good quality high strenght hair spray,(if you think about it, that stuff is just glue for your hair, and since you wont be showering with the puppet im sure it will last a while,
i think the main thing is though is that this guy is building and selling puppets that he doesnt own, its wrong on many levels, he might think its ok to do, but if he were to design his own show and then somebody was selling "replicas"or knock offs with out his approval i bet he would have his...
