if you have little expierience in carving a head it may be helpful to sculpt a Maquete of your puppetr design in clay, dosnt have to be very big, just enough to help u figure out what the final product will be.
also u may end up doing one or two before you get the one you want if its your...
i just feel that doing these remakes does a dis service to the muppets , instead of allowing the characters to grow in thier own way, it takes them a step back, and forces them into molds, something that the original show, and movies never did,
take for instance Muppet Caper, they were given...
none, im sick of the muppets retreading ground that others have done, i really cant stand the whole , well we arnt sure what to do with them , so lets just use book or movie that has already been done and plugg our characters into it, i want them to concentrate on original material, and leave...
keep in mind sometimes you just have to do what ever is neede to get the shot, any puppeteer worth his salt is going to be used to getting in to tight cramped spaces in order to get a shot, thats all part of puppetry and performing, (within reason of course im not siggesting you put them in...
well on sesame street they use some special custom made "dolley chairs"
they are adjustable, since the main sesame street set is not elevated , that way the puppeteers can roll around on the set , or be pushed and pulled into postion so that thier characters can interact with the humans, just...
why would you want to sue them??
they never claim to be muppets, , they are puppets . and as has been stated many times before this style of puppetry , no matter what show it is will always remind peopl of muppest,
it was a great show, a lot of very talented people worked on it, and...
"What troubles me or what I find confusing is that several characters seem to in the last 10 years remain the same, Fozzie being one of them. While others like the afore mentioned have under gone radical change. I guess I would think that if materials have changed that drastically over the years...
again not every thing is availible anymore,
"Take for example Grover. WOAH! Not only did they up the color blue a few notches but whats with the fur. WAY too fuzzy. Grover is known for his more nappy fur and they certainly could've done something to the fur fabric to make it more like...
ok see its like this, PUPPETS DONT LAST FOR EVER!!!!!!!
they are always being rebuilt, and if its a puppet like say CRAZY HARRY , who rarley gets used or rebuilt chances are that he will not be redone very oftne, and by the time he is redone, it will be done by a new or different puppet...
lowercasegods Graet cartoon, very well done, nice style as well,
now to those of you who are fearing that a puppet like Kami is going to influence behavior regarding sex,and drug use, those topics are not discussed nor is how Kami's mother came to get AIDS, (she is a orphan), what is...
as far as muppet style puppets, i think u need to learn a lot on your own, you have a lot of info here on this board or over at buck beavers site, no school teaches how they do it, i learned on my own , years of experimentation, and study, learning all i could about the from those paper things...
as far as im concered if a show calls it self "EDGY" it isnt ,
im really only commenting on the puppetry here, Crank Yankers , has some great puppetry , but the calls are lame, Greg The Bunny had some good puppetry but the scripts were lame, and this show is just lame , period,
I think...
dude wow what alot of writing, but i think i can realte to alot of what you said(i was on the bulding end not the puppeteering end which if you rlooking for good money and stability is not really the end to be on)
but i to had my share of disapointments in the last days of the workshop, and it...
the designs of the Roach and the Rat are nice, not to thrilled with the live hand puppet (BEAR ?DOG?)
but the puppetry is pretty basic, almost ametuer, it might be an issue of the general design of the puppet ,but it deffenltly could use some work, seeing as they dont really do much but sit...
MAK, your bring up some great points here, and i hope you didnt take any of this personally, I know a lot of work went into both shows on both sides of the pond(by the way it was great to see you working Mop-a Top during the final fitting we did in NY just before we shipped him over ),
and...
gotta disagree with you thier, i saw, it was awful, yet another show that thinks bad puppetry is funny, its not very clever , and the only reason i was able to sit thur it was i was drinking at a bar, and my friends an d i were able to discuss just how bada show it was
