I've actually been doing a bit of research about soy foam. Looks like it will still have eurethane in it, but not so much. My mouse died, otherwise I'd link you to the article I found.
Oh that's interesting to hear that about Felt. I've only heard good reviews, but it's all been from improvisers who might just be happy to see a gimmick that doesn't get too gamey.

My one thought is that, since we see humans in the mirror everyday, our level of perfection necessary for a human is SO much greater to have it look "right" to...
It's certainly not a cart for stock products. It *can* be, I suppose, but the idea of handmade items shouldn't be stock in the first place. I have three things that I recreate for my shop for which I use the same photo (a set of frog finger puppets & 2 finger-puppet stands), and everything else...
Our theater uses white styrofoam. We coat it with several layers of paper maiche, letting it dry between layers & sand it down (using glue-paste & grocery bags) between layers. Prime it first & then paint it.
Keep in mind that I say "we" but really I've personally only done it like twice.
Oh, hey, kevin, I'll respectfully disagree on one point...I *adore* thinking about the creator! That's what separates the handmade from the mass-produced. There was thought and emotion behind what was created, and seeing his joyful face makes it better for me. At least one photo with the creator...
