    Grey Beaver Puppet

I've been selling my work online for two years now, and by far, the best layout is the most simple, with your first photo being the most "seductive" Great puppet! I do agree with Conor regarding the flashy text. More than likely if someone likes your work enough to buy it, they'll do so...

    Amazingly negative feedback

I definitely am able to do the filtering, but just like good comments from the masses can lift you a bit, hatred can also bring you down. And yes, it was written feedback, and saturated with emotion. That right there causes me to not give any accreditation to what he has to say. Basically his...

    Amazingly negative feedback

I know what *I* do with negative feedback, but even though I can laugh it off, of course it affects me to a certain extent. I'm curious how many others have experienced pure emotionally charged negative feedback about your work & how you deal with it. While I'm at it, how do you respond to...

    moving eyes

I do the same thing. My problem is that I'll usually not try it for fear that it won't work. A serious hurdle I need to get over.

    My first antron fleece puppet

Onath, did you hand or machine sew that center seam? I have a pile of antron that i'm just so afraid to even touch! Your first antron puppet looks amazing! I love him!

    moving eyes

couldn't you make the mechanism slightly similar to the blinking eye (without the overhead eyebrow) but have a toggle going back and forth with the eyes in place? Not sure how to set it in the face though.

    CGI vs Puppetry

I think both have their place, however I see puppetry as being more respected, and more than likely due to the lack of in film. People respect things less when they're exposed to it in the majority of the things they see. which is why we like & remember GOOD cgi. Even taking it to stop motion...

    My Film Won Another Award!

So...remember that little thing I did back in January with the Little Red Riding Hood puppet & the what-not? The film was submitted to an IFP seasonal challenge in January & won 1st place (I announced that bit here). Part of that win, meant that it went on to the final rounds at the Phoenix Film...

    Random Puppet-Building Tips

I get mine at an auto upholstry shop. There's a thread about puppet making supplies that's super helpful, too.

    Finding Work

What if you were able to do your full-time job from home? Like, could you get something thats programming & do it remotely? Yeah, You almost need to bill them together just so people know you're doing both.

    Finding Work

So when you send them the pacakge, are you going to put in there both that you're a puppeteer & Flash developer? I wonder if separating them would get you called sooner for the flash stuff. Puppetry, in my mind, overrides Flash as far as what's going to stand out about you.

    New Puppet: Git!

I love that when his mouth is closed he looks slightly sad. I'm a big fan of hinting at emotion.

    Finding Work

OH I think Colbert Puppet is brilliant! I think what you've been doing is right on track. Just keep up with your instincts. Buck--I think almost every big break is a total fluke.

    Finding Work

Totally provides more clarification. I can see that difference. I use the same building style as I do for my show puppets, but usually the non-show puppets are shorter. It really sounds like you should put that free-time you have into making a post-card/pamphlet to mail to ad agencies. Like I...
