Shooting How to do it Digital? Video, Lighting, Editing, the WORKS!

Hi Marc, The first thing is that your first few films may not be completely "professional" looking - that takes some practice - so don't be discouraged if the first few don't turn out exactly the way you planned. The good news is that even the lowest-end consumer video equipment can produce...

    Troll hair

The longest deep-pile shag fur you can find is usually only 2 - 3 inches long. The more expensive and harder to find varieties are certainly whispier than the cheaper long furs you find in most craft and fabric shops. I'd guess that the best solution to get a "troll hair" look would be to...

    My puppet

That's awesome Kroovi! I'd love to see the video....try uploading it to a web site and the post the URL to the file (i.e. www.any-site.com/myfiles/puppet_video.mpg). If you don't have any web space to do this with send me a private email and I'll send you the FTP information for one of my sites...

Wanted: 70s Ernie puppet, any condition

Hi there! I am really in need of the cloth Ernie hand puppet from the 1970s. This was the soft-faced, cloth puppet (made by Fisher Price I think) and not the more common rubber one. I'd be willing to pay a very good price for one, irregardless of it's condition so check your closets...

Self Doubt and the Begining Puppeteer/Puppet Builder

Great  now we've gone and made a puppeteer of him instead of something respectable and profitable like an accountant or an engineer. ;) :p

    Yahoo! Puppet Groups

I was just on Yahoo joining one of their puppetry groups and discovered that there are over 230 different ones! Now obviously many probably aren't very good, but still that's a lot of puppetry discussion. Check it out -...

Self Doubt and the Begining Puppeteer/Puppet Builder

That's about the most "puppet nerdy" thing I've ever heard :p :zany: I completely agree. If someone's not critical of their own work they're probably not very good.

I think Steve made them by himself. You could always ask in The Melonpool Forum.

    Bear in 2004

Glad to hear you're having a hoot as Bear.....he's honestly one of the best things Henson has done ever. The short answer to your question about Disney is that like Luke said, they've shot enough episodes to run the series endlessly. It's great to hear Henson is doing some independent stuff...

Rumor: The Muppet Wizard of Oz

Has everyone seen this from AICN - http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=16715 ? Sorry if it was already posted in this thread or elsewhere, Danny over at Tough Pigs told me about this and I hadn't seen it.

My first two puppets-please tell me what you think

Good point about the hot glue Sam! You really, really, really should not use hot glue for mouthplates, ever. It's just very lumpy. I'd even give regular `ol white glue a chance (which I do use sometimes) before hot glue. Personally, I use Lepage contact cement to do this, but it's pretty toxic...

Self Doubt and the Begining Puppeteer/Puppet Builder

I hate to spoil the surprise, but you're human. You'll make mistakes. A lot. You'll learn. You'll grow. You'll get over them. You'll get better and better. :) I remember an article I read about Maryl Streep recently - she was being asked if on the set of HBO's "Angels in America" the younger...

They actually do, much more often than in the UK. The thing is hearing about it. This hella-sucks Luke!

    Lord of the Rings

I've read conflicting things about this, but I believe it takes place at the beginning of RotK when Gandalf arrives at Isengard. He somehow "deals" with Saruman - robbing him of his powers - but it's ultimately Wormtongue that does him in.
