    Boglins

If you're looking for the eye mechs, make sure you buy one of the older (big) ones off ebay. I don't know if the newer ones have the same eyes or not.

    Boglins

They recently started making Boglins again, I think they were out of production for many years. The foam/rubber/latex/whatever they are made from is fairly durable, but it does breakdown - especially if the puppets are stored in sun light. The movable eyes on the bigger Boglins can be used as...

The 2nd Annual BT Puppet Building Contest

A couple of people mentioned the Timmy link problem, but I can't see it. It works fine on my PC. I went back and checked the HTML and JS code and it seems OK too. A few of the links initially were broken, but fixed. Maybe it's a browser cache problem? Oh and it's not that look-a-likes were...

The 2nd Annual BT Puppet Building Contest

The entries aren't quite up yet. I'm just working out a few coding problems (the pictures wouldn't display properly in IE). Everything will be up and running within an hour or two.

    Team America: World Police

Technically the movie is really good. When you consider the on set problems and the fact they just finished it on Wednesday it's down right amazing.

    Team America: World Police

I'll second that. I also caught a sneak preview and loved it. The audience was cheering and applauding all through it. Great movie, but's definately not for the faint of heart or anyone easily offended. If you like South Park you'll love this.

How do they do the Java sketch?

It is done with a variation on what's referred as the Czech Curtain of Light technique where you basically have a narrow tightly focused strip of light downstage and no light upstage. The puppeteers dress in black and stand upstage out of the light, the puppets are held inside the light. You...

    Gluing Technique Help!

Rubber latex is available at most art and craft supply stores. It's usually sold as a mold-making supply. It's not the same as foam latex, which is what is often used for special effects make up and animatronics and is harder to find.

I don't think it's coming out in theatres, just on DVD though there have been rumours of a limited theatrical run in some cities.

    Official MirrorMask Site Online

The trailer for Mirrormask has been released. It doesn't stream well on my PC (the WM version at least) but looks great all the same. Go to http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/mirrormask/index.html and click on "previews & clips".

    Gluing Technique Help!

All foam breaks down eventually and falls apart. Paint will usually accelerate the process by a few years, but it depends on a variety of factors including how often the puppet is used, how it's stored, etc. The best way to protect the puppet is to store it in a cool, dry place (not a damp...

    My puppets can't see!

Generally speaking I don't think Plastic Hemispheres are intended for use in puppets that may be used by children. I attached them the same way - just don't use hot glue. I've had hemispheres melt slightly when I've tried attaching them with hot glue. Thanks for posting that link - I had...
