Looking for Muppet fans for new TV show

Actually, even pre-Disney Henson footage was notoriously expensive to get cleared or rebroadcast. That's apparently part of why you see very few Fraggle Rock and Muppet Show reruns.

    Realised something about Kermit

That's very true. I think that it's really important in puppetry that your hand is relaxed and free of tension. Ideally, if your arm and hand is properly relaxed there should be a graceful curve that flows upwards from the arm, through your wrist in to your hand and fingers. If your hand is...

    New puppet in the making

The best thing to do with any chemical substance is just read the MSDS (not sure if they are required in the EU or not), which almost no one does. It explains what's in the product as well as what safety precautions are necessary.

    Local Resources (Los Angeles)

Someone who lives in California might know of a source I don't, but I'm pretty sure if you want specific types of foam unless you luck out and find what you need locally it will have to be ordered. That's what most of the big puppet shops in L.A. and NYC do. Antron isn't sold in stores...

    New puppet in the making

I can't comment on the specifics of the product you're using without reading it's Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), but if it's contact cement it likely contains carcinogenic chemicals. It may have less or more than contact cement gel, but that's besides the point. It's not even the length of...

    Business offer i can't refuse...or?

The only advice I have would be to build them and display them in the store, not just put up pictures. No one goes in to a computer store to buy puppets. I think your friend is right, it's a unique, cool idea for his store but if the puppets are there and can be physically touched and used by...

    New puppet in the making

I hate to come down as the contact cement heavy, but everyone really should take the proper safety precautions with contact cement (every manufacturer in the US & Canada will provide you with safety sheets on their products). It's not enough to just put the lid back on after applying the cement...

    How to start making puppets?

You'll find that contact cement works much better for most things. It also creates a permanent bond, which hot glue does not. Just be sure to use a respirator and a well-ventilated work area. Search the Forum for "contact cement" and you'll find a lot of old threads with good info.

    How to start making puppets?

Wal-Mart sells small-ish sheets of reticulated foam as air conditioning filters for a buck or two. Not sure of the width, but I think it is almost a 1/2" thick (check before you buy to make sure it's not too thin). It can usually be found in the hardware section.

    Video editing question.

If you're working on PC (editing is horrible on the PC) try Adobe Elements which is pretty cheap. There's also AVID Free DV which is free but complicated to learn and WAX.

    Memory Wire

Ah. There's a variety of web sites that provide sources for industrial materials, which might be the best way to track this stuff down. Unfortunately I can't recall any of the URLs right now. :(
