Was TMS shot in front of a live audience?

They also presented a Muppet likeness to the director of "The Muppet Movie", James Frawley. (Who, FYI, also directed episodes of "The Monkees" TV series.) The Muppet of him was wearing a headset. I wish I could be certain, but I can't remember for sure, if that puppet was in the "Rainbow...

    Performing Two Characters At Once

I don't mean this as a tear-down of Burr in any way... but the simple answer is: Kukla didn't have a moving mouth. And as much as I loved his work, he didn't do strict lip-sync the way Jim Henson did. He just kind of opened and closed Ollie's mouth when he felt like it. :p

You want it. (You know you do!) ;) :p

    RIP Shelley Winters

I have a Shelly Winters story: I was working at Disney during the filming of Pete's Dragon. I was sitting in the commisary, eating lunch by myself. Shelly Winters was at the table next to me, in full costume. Suddenly, she thrusts a ketchup bottle at me and says, "Open this!". She didn't...

    Disney Characters statues

Of course I remember! You guys were sitting right in front of me. I just didn't put your screen name together with the face. :p

    Good-bye DVD's

The worst example of this I can think of off the top of my head are those horizontal credit crawls that some BBC programs use. Those are practically unreadable. :p

    Disney Characters statues

I think we're saying exactly the same thing. :p

    Disney Characters statues

It's a really quality piece. Very nice sculpt and very well done. If it weren't for the fact that Master Replicas is coming out with the poser, I would buy this. Personally, I'm saving my money for the poser... you can put him in the same pose as this statue... then change it when you feel...

Tell My Friend That Elmo's Nose Is Orange!!!

Er... is she still watching TV in Black & White? Does she think Elmo's fur is gray? That might answer a few questions! :p

Any Comic Book Readers Here On Muppet Central?

Well, I have a big collection of comic books... and now I write them, too. But my collection is entirely humor comics. I don't collect super heroes. :p

    Good-bye DVD's

Silly me! I didn't realize your location. Yes, going from NTSC to HD is a much bigger difference than from PAL to HD. Yes, sorry again... I do mean rear-projection. I read about the screen door effect before I bought it, but I'm not seeing it. And the viewing angle is vastly improved...

    Something I've wondered...

Actually, Shari's daughter, Mallory Tarcher, is trying to carry on her mother's work. I've seen Mallory perform Lamb Chop and she's very good! She's a really nice lady, too. :p

I got to see it this past Sunday. He's definitely smaller than puppet Kermit (or the Master Replicas poser, which I've also seen), but not by too much. :p

    Good-bye DVD's

I'd have to respectfully disagree with you here. My old set was a 35" CRT, because I never liked the CRT projectors (the first generation of "big screen" TV's). I went with a Sony LCD Projector (I ruled out DLP because of the "rainbow effect" and plasma is out of my price range. For those...

Just When You Thought It Might Get Better...

Definitely let me know when it gets closer. We'll see if we can coordinate it. The new "Monsters, Inc." ride has unofficially opened. I rode it for the first time on Sunday. :p

    Good-bye DVD's

Just to make this completely clear (as mud): The two new formats are incompatible with each other, meaning HD-DVD discs will not play on BluRay players and vice-versa. However, everything I've read (and anathema posted) says that BOTH HD-DVD players and BluRay players will be backward...

Just When You Thought It Might Get Better...

You know, I didn't get a good look at them. I just kept saying, "But they moved the sign!" and nobody else I was with really cared. :p

Just When You Thought It Might Get Better...

Did anyone else notice that they moved the giant "Muppetvision 3-D" sign back against the building? It doesn't stand out the way it used to. They also added stars around the perimeter of it with drawings of the characters in them. I didn't have my camera with me or I would have taken a...

    Rod arm techniques

Here's a post I wrote about how Steve Whitmire operates two arm rods. The "description above" that's missing is that the two rods are separate, not crossed, otherwise this technique wouldn't work. :p

    Do others break your puppets?

Although we as a society are definitely getting more rude, kids punching puppets is not new. In the late 60's, Sears was having a promotion on Disney Winnie the Pooh clothes. I was working at a summer theater and they put on a fashion show as part of one of their children's plays. Disney...
