Hi Steve,
I like the new Ralph much better. Quite a bit more personality just from looking at him.
By the way, you never responded to this thread that you bumped up.
:p
I saw this in June and I agree with you. I was very disappointed when I read they were closing it so soon. Especially since it ran for a couple of years in London.
:p
I'm an annoyed audience member. I'm two (or three, I forget exactly) people away from Tim Mathieson and he has to squeeze past me when he gets up to leave. I also get rounded up and forced to leave the theater by the Nazis.
They cut my hair REALLY short for the movie. So short, I wouldn't...
Oh, one more thing... if we set up a dinner, I'm available Thursday or Friday night, but not Saturday. I have a Writers Guild function on Saturday night.
:p
I'll definitely be there. (I'm always there.)
Steve,
What kind of panel were you thinking of?
:p
P.S. For those going, official Comic-Con hotel reservations open on Feb. 15 -- and they close out FAST!!
Exactly the argument I use when discussing CGI versus hand-drawn animation. CG is just the latest Hollywood buzz-word, so all the executives who can't think for themselves jump on this bandwagon. "2-D is dead," they say. Well, if someone would tell a good story in 2-D, it wouldn't be dead...
How Much is that Doggy in the Window is not public domain.
"We've Got Love" (or "I Got Love") is from the Broadway musical "Purlie", which was based on the play "Purlie Victorious". You can hear a clip from it here. Although, it runs out just as it's getting to the familiar part.
"Love...
"Real Live Girl" was an existing song. It is from the Broadway show "Little Me" that originally starred Sid Caesar.
On the other hand, "Frog Went A Courtin'" is not a licensed song. It is public domain and dates all the way back to 1580!!
:p
Thanks, ravagefrackle! That makes a lot of sense. So, it's basically all choreographed ahead of time. Very clever!
I've also been wondering... all the characters have two hands. Are they doing it like the Swedish Chef, where the voice is only working the head and the other puppeteer is...
He loves the Muppets... I'm pretty certain he likes nonsense!
And it's a pretty sad commentary that we can't clown around on a forum dedicated to the Muppets without someone's panties getting in a bunch. Come on, we're not curing diseases here. (Although laughter is supposed to be...
Does anyone know how the giant Sloth is operated? He has two working hands, instead of one being on a wire like Big Bird or Bear. At first, I thought since the whole show is done on blue screen (or green screen) that there was a second puppeteer operating the right arm, but then I saw a shot...
We've talked about this in another thread (that I'm too lazy to look up), but I think Smithsonian Oscar is a photo poser. I don't think they would have built one for the museum. The Smithsonian doesn't display replicas.
In fact, after Norman Lear donated Archie and Edith Bunker's chairs to...
I vote for Rowlf, too. He's the only other character with a history nearly as long as Kermit's.
:p
Of course, if you were ever able to do the Sesame Street characters, then you know who I'd want!!
