Oh I think I just figured it out! The photo that's on the Muppet Central article page, the one of Jim and Richard with the winner, was probably taken after the show when the press gets to take pictures and ask the winners questions. They often have pictures of the winner with the presenters.
I just got to see Pee Wee's Playhouse on Adult Swim last night. It was so much fun seeing it again!
And while it was a kid's show techincally, it had a lot of adult humor as well.
Unfortunately, I don't know much about The Museum of TV and Radio in Los Angeles. I did intern at the Manhattan one though; I don't know for sure but I believe the two museums tend to have the same library contents.
The Manhattan museum's Muppet collection is amazing. It includes Sesame...
No problem. It's a cute scene. I remember watching the film when I was little not knowing who she was, just that she was obviously famous, heh.
Have fun watching MTM, it's awesome!
I was hoping VH1 would mention The Muppets on their new '70s documentary! The original "I luv the '70s was great.
Though, personally, I was disapointed with their Fraggle Rock segment on "I luv the '80s". It seemed like the people talking barely knew what the show was about. They just thought...
Sorry, I didn't mean to make it confusing. I probably should have mentioned that Kermit and Scooter were behind a desk on stage, hiding Jim and Richard. So then that allowed Jim to replace Kermit when opening the envelope.
Yes, I got to see Kermit and Scooter at the 1986 Oscars at The Museum of TV and Radio recently. It was really cute. And yes, they all do look dashing in tuxedos.
SPOILERS
Kermit gives a speech about how animated characters can do anything (as opposed to real people). Then when the...
I remember I used to have an Ernie action figure and one time my family was driving to Sesame Place and I was pretending that Ernie was on his way to see Bert. lol
Lol, yeah sorry about that! Glad you guys liked it. It's so weird, I just borrowed The Muppet Show Season 1 DVD from a friend last night and got to see that sketch for the first time (I'd been trying to see it for awhile). Then I go online today and suddenly it's on youtube! Divine...
I've been there before, their character evolution site is great. I'd never seen Snuffy like that before, that was a little scary. My friends couldn't believe it either! lol
I definitely identify with Scooter, a young person at his first real job. He's so determined to do well. He has good ideas but no one takes him seriously because he's just a "kid." I think that's why he uses his Uncle excuse so much. It's an easy way to get respect from these older people...
Definitely Scooter in Muppets Take Manhattan, his verse in "Saying Goodbye" is so moving (Richard had a great singing voice). And I like the scene where he's managing...well maybe not managing, a movie theater.
On The Muppet Show, I enjoy "Six String Orchestra" and the way Scooter seems so...
That was a nice tribute, Skye!
This Muppet Show clip was recently posted on youtube.com, from the Sandy Duncan episode where she makes Sweetums feel better about himself. I love this sketch, you really feel bad for Sweetums!
One of the major themes of the Muppets is that "ugly" can be...
