This comes directly from Dave Goelz. I always thought he was named for Muppet builder Faz Fazakas, but Dave doesn't think so, especially since they are spelled differently. He said there was a rumor that it was "F. OZ-zie" for Frank Oz, but he's not even sure that's true.
What's the real...
No, you can't buy a ticket or walk in off the street. There isn't any audience. I was invited by my friend who was invited by someone involved in the production.
:p
I'm not sure if Piggy was in any of the elevator sketches... I think she was. They were calling for her when I left. But I know she was in other sketches before I got there.
I'm not sure what you mean by "UP THERE".
And this is going to seem like a rude answer, although it's not intended...
Kevin,
I like the display case, but if it's not too presumptuous of me, I have a small suggestion. Tip Kermit's whole head forward so his top mouth plate is parallel to the floor. I think you'll get a better likeness that way.
:p
Actually, I understand the concept of keeping something mint in the box, but in the case of Animal, he will probably get ruined if you don't remove him. The way they have him tied up in there already leaves deep dents in his arms and legs. The longer you leave him bound, the less likely those...
I haven't seen all of the ones they've done so far, so I don't know who's been in them... but there were a lot of characters today:
Kermit, Fozzie, Piggy, Gonzo, Rizzo, Pepe, Bunsen and Beaker, Swedish Chef and two generic rats. There was also a penguin laying on the puppet table, but I...
I went to the studio today and watched them tape a bunch of new elevator sketches. I don't know when they will be up on the site.
But during the shoot, they wanted to look at Topo Sticky online to make sure they were matching the way he looked before and the page was so slow in loading that...
I like this look much better than the pantyhose nose. From the pictures, the color seems a little dark and too much of one single tone, but I still like it better.
As I understand it, they did try flocking and the problem is that it flakes off. I know Muppetperson will be careful with his...
The new Toy Story Mania, which is just basically an overlay on the existing Paradise Pier is set to open this summer. The rest of the announced changes will be phased in over the next 5 years, so the answer to your question is... I don't know. But my wild guess is that Muppet*Vision will still...
There's another phenomena that I've encountered when trying to license music... and that is dealing with estates of composers. For some reason, heirs tend to overvalue their composer relative's work. And they get this idea stuck in their heads and become unwilling to negotiatate. (By the way...
No, they were on display at the old brownstone in New York, on the second floor where the original Muppet Workshop was when Don Sahlin and Kermit Love were among the puppet builders. I have no idea what happened to them later.
:p
I loved that they kept that in! I never heard that line until I watched it on the DVD. The copy I had taped off television had an announcer doing promos for the upcoming show and talking over it.
:p
It was a joke. It was intended to be funny. Hey, look, here's some other Muppets that weren't even in the show. I saw this show when it originally first aired and I laughed when they showed up. And Ernie even says something like, "Hey Bert, what are we doing here?"
Personally, I love this...
Yes, you are the only person on the planet that hasn't met Frank Oz. Here is a slightly blurry picture of the back of me watching Jim and Frank tape a segment for Sesame Street.
:p
I'm not sure that's as much of a problem on the poser as it is on the puppet. On the puppet, if you hold him upright, his head flattens out making him look like Kermit the Duck. But on the poser, his head doesn't flatten that way.
I've been afraid to do this, too. While you can get his...
I have to disagree with you on this. As much as we think of them as film and television stars, they are actually only pieces of cloth sewed together very artistically. They are works of art in the same sense as a painting.
This is the real relevant point. I have replicas of other famous...
