    Muppet Film and TV References

Here's another odd comic book reference. I didn't even get this one until I saw the screen shot of the page and I own the issue... Ugh... I can't find it. Anyway, in one of the issues of Darkwing Duck (forget which one), Quacker Jack either hides out in or attacks a store called "Clint...

    Old Nick Appreciation Thread

Angry Beavers is very underrated in the grand scheme of things. Even CatDog was more popular (even got a reference on Family Guy). There was some AB merchandise (plush toys and gumball machine figures... there are others I don't know about)... but it really didn't get the respect that the...

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

M*A*S*H* was Hollywood being Hollywood. They wanted to rail against the Vietnam War without actually having the courage to outright mention it. Kinda like how The Hurt Locker was made and won an award when it was safe to criticize the Iraq War... from the very same people who booed Michael...

Positive And Negative: The Muppet Movie (Opinions on TMM)

The Muppet Movie took quite a few cues from It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World... Pryor could have had more screen time, but I doubt that was the point. The short, ultra quick cameos are what gave TMM oomph. That said, I love Pryor and all, but let's be thankful he wasn't like he was in Superman 3.

New Muppet movie in development for potential 2013 release

That's absolutely terrible, and they should be as hands off as they are with Marvel. But the film's crew did the best they could to bring those origins back and reference Jim multiple times in the film. Henson really should have negotiated that better, and put it in some terms of conditions in...

The triumphant return of One Life to Live & All My Children

ABC has egg on its face for The Revolution. It was such a humongous failure, it didn't even get a complete season. I don't even think boycotts were to blame. It was just...terrible. And ABC didn't do it's research. These makeover shows never were successful, and failed after a year in...

    Recasts for Fraggle Rock movie

The best you can get is very very close. You're stuck with the options of a character being pretty close to the same or just having a huge hole in the cast either going empty or being filled with a character that no one's going to like. Yet, when Rowlf and Scooter were finally officially...

    Recasts for Fraggle Rock movie

I hate when fans complain about "wrong sounding Muppets." Remember, when recasting a character, sounding the same isn't the first requirement. If you don't get the character, it doesn't matter if your voice is a complete perfect imitation boarding on forgery. Remember, the requirements (based...

The triumphant return of One Life to Live & All My Children

As someone who's seen TV shows come back to varying results... Almost exactly the same, but it has one or two bad episodes and everyone hates it It loses the very thing that made it special to cater to a new audience Teen Titans Go. Just...just Teen Titans Go. I really hope this comeback is...

Pixar: Are the glory days over?

That's what Oscar Bait is. You basically have to have the most depressing, preachy thing to win. Comedy is virtually worthless to them. I'm shocked Melissa McCarthy was nominated for a comedic role in a comedy.

Seriously, Sesame Workshop? Where are your lawyers?

Lord knows what kind of "hug" that Elmo was asking for anyway. Good call.

Behold... the New Teen Titans Cartoon...

UGH! Apparently people actually like this series. Must be a female thing. They must think it's cute or something. I prefer cute and dangerous... like Max the rabbit of Sam and Max. Seriously... I wanted to like the show when they first announced it last year.

New Muppet movie in development for potential 2013 release

It would be kinda a bad move not to dedicate the film to Jerry or Jane. I highly doubt they wouldn't acknowledge them in some way.

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

You had me at hammy. It would be cool if Sony started a series of films based on video games. I'd love to see a Parappa movie with the original game developers behind the script. Maybe get Sara Ramirez to reprise the role of Lammy... It's time to turn the tide of terrible video game movies...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 43

No. It wasn't new. It was seen in another episode, all the way back 4 seasons ago It was nice to see one that hasn't been rerun much, though. And it did barely fit in with the Opera Murray Tune ins.

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

While I had never played the video games before, that trailer looks amazing. A lot of the time, the cartoon adaption got me into the games. This could potentially reach the same kind of audience, leaving to more game buyers. This seems like a solid project if it continues in production...

    Roger Rabbit Blu-ray March 12, 2013!

Eddie Merchandise would fall on having to pay the actor. After all, there's a reason why they had an Expy of him in the comic book version.

Behold... the New Teen Titans Cartoon...

Except that they keep saying this is for the fans of the old show, the fans of the old show are going to love it, they got the same voice actors involved, not the writers.... I swear the second episode was written by the voice actor of Ron Stoppable... it does seem like a bunch of bad jokes Ron...

Positive And Negative: The Muppet Movie (Opinions on TMM)

My only complaint is the crummy print the US got stuck with, getting rid of part of Rowlf's song and playing the music too loudly over the credits to hear the characters talking over them. Not to mention the fact that every new home video cuts off the original ending logos for legal reasons...

Arthur - Where is the Show Going?

I don't know if they've officially cancelled it. I saw it on the show's wiki... I dunno how official that news was. Knowing PBS, they'll rerun it for years after... but I'm just ticked there isn't going to be another Learnerer episode and they're not going to give Birthday Girl an origin.
