Since I have really only had a couple days to watch it, I can't think of them off the top of my head. The basic plot is about how Oscar asks Bob's friend, Bernie, to tune his piano in an awful sounding way. Grungetta hears Bernie tune and play, and spends a lot of time with him. Oscar starts...
Heh, yes, this one *is* complete, the quality is about as good as a second gen SP dub from a nearly 20 year old SP tape can be. There are one or two minor glitches, but it doesn't affect the enjoyment of the episode.
Hey,
Since you guys were such a big help in figuring out the airdates for the other two episodes I asked about, I'm asking nicely for more help.
Recently, a friend showed me a tape of SS she had of an episode from 1985. I liked it so much I asked if I could make a copy of...
In "Telephone Rock", I think the operator tells them that all lines are busy, but they still need letters (referring to the telethon in the storyline).
You won't find that video under that title anymore...they changed it to something else..I forget what the new title is, I think it starts with "Sleepytime" (I have no idea why they changed it-I grew up with the original version, and it's always been a favorite...beats me why they're messing with...
The rundowns:
2548 has....
-"I heard my dog bark" (with Gordon, Bob, Susan, Uncle Wally, and a few kids)(my copy starts halfway through this one, but I have the complete sketch on another tape).
-Cartoon where a boy sits on the top of a hill listening to sounds until he hears his mom call...
Wow....I've never heard of either of the last two...that last one DOES sound adorable, I'd have loved to have seen it.
It wasn't until long after I started this thread the image that really sticks out to me from Put Down the Duckie....the late, great Madeline Kahn singing it with Rubber...
What is your all time favorite muppet song or sketch on "Sesame Street"?
Mine is "Put Down the Duckie", the uncut version with all of the celebrities (it was worthless without them). I'm sorry, but it's just so silly, it still gets me.
Jeez, in MY elementary school, teachers didn't care much if the students said "dam*", much less "heck" or "hey"...I guess their theory was to take the power away from the words by not expressly forbidding them. Good idea, I say. My parents felt the same way.
The odd thing is, I think Richard Hunt *did* do a great job in performing him! That voice and the mannerisms were just right. I even love the concept! It was in the design of the puppet itself that it went wrong, in my opinion, but who's to even say that they did go wrong? I was afraid of a...
Unfortunately, yes.
I LOVE this special, but it has a somewhat black cloud over it for me. I first saw it in probably late 1989, just after moving to Florida. It was still back in the day when it was the routine of my sister and I to watch Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, and Captain Kangaroo...
I didn't. Both are on a very worn out old "misc." time shifting tape (for some reason, my older sister missed watching Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers every day, so she would set the timer to tape it). Eventually, a Disney movie was permanently taped on it, and the aforementioned SS episodes are...
Well, as I said, neither are complete, and 2549 is REALLY chopped up, I doubt it would be worth much to anyone (besides, I don't sell shows, I trade). 2548 (I'm not entirely sure that is the number, since I only have the second half of this one, but it was definitely about the same time...
I'm curious if anyone can tell me when either of those two episodes were aired first (I have them on tape (though they are incomplete copies), and the copyright date says 1989, plus they are from the Arkansas PBS station, and we moved away from Arkansas in July, '89, so I know it was in the...
Well, I could imagine them making "3 Dressed up as a 9" a literal interpretation of the song with out causing any problems. As for "Raise", it just strikes me as the kind of thing that would just fly by most kids, but their parents would have a good time with.
I LOVE Trooper, myself...
