Does anybody think you're weird for watching Sesame Street?

Anyone who makes fun of Star Trek either has never watched it or else they have and *they* are the weird ones. Seriously, what's not to like about it? But anyway, back to Sesame Street...

Does anybody think you're weird for watching Sesame Street?

All the time. EDIT: But on second thought, who cares what they think?

What is your greatest Sesame Street memory?

Watching Put Down the Duckie in my room at age 3.

    Your Favorite Muppet Performer?

I think my favorites would have to be Richard Hunt (for Placido Flamingo and Don Music), Jim Henson (for Ernie), Frank Oz (for Grover), and Kevin Clash (for Hoots and Elmo [back when he was just another character]).

Exhibit - Jim Henson's Fantastic World

I live in Little Rock, and I went to the exhibit for the second time yesterday. It was wonderful! I was familiar with many of the things on display already, but somehow I still found myself laughing real hard and then was moved to tears by the end of it-just thinking about this man who created...

    Telly in At Your Library

I've wondered about the season that segment was from, myself. It's my guess that it was taped 1983-84, judging from the looks of the cast, but I'm really not sure. Some kind soul out there once told me that, but I can't remember who and therefore I can't accurately cite it or even judge how...

What sketches scared you as a kid?

I never had a problem with the Jazz segments, but what you said about it creeping you out at night reminded me of something-I recently watched the "Pretty Great Performances" sketch with Placido Flamingo and the All-Animal Orchestra at around 1 in the morning...as I said, I was terrified of him...

    Episode 0702 Morty Moot Mope

Wow, the Morty Moot Mope episode was from *that* long ago?

Classic Sesame Street clips on YouTube

Do you mean the one where the Count is told to produce two things that come from the sky within a certain time period? Or am I thinking of a different clip?

Classic Sesame Street clips on YouTube

Here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQLcjQ8BhHY I'd like it if someone could tell me when this bit was made-I know it was pre-1987, and I'd guess, judging from the looks of the cast, that it was pre-1984 or so, too, but I was hoping someone could confirm it for me...

Classic Sesame Street clips on YouTube

Sure, I'll do it if nobody else has already. I'll post the link to it once it's up.

Clips with PBS bugs on YouTube

I know that it can be dangerous to post clips with Noggin or other corporate "bugs" in the corner of the screen on YouTube, but does anyone know if it's safe to post clips with local public television "bugs" on there? I'm afraid to try and find out, since I've already had two videos deleted in...

    The Octopus Blues

I'm lastofthegypsies. :-) . The reply to the video remarked about the coincidence that this video should appear so quickly after this thread. The truth is, I was looking for a new video to post, and I got inspired when I saw this thread, since it appeared that there was an audience for this...

1985 seemed to be Sesame Street's peak

I'm a child of the late 80's and 90's shows, but I do believe that the best shows were made from 1985-89.

    A golden Sesame Street moment.

What sketches scared you as a kid?

I didn't post on this thread for a long, long time because I thought I'd already done so...but then I looked through my posting history, and found that I had not. Perhaps I posted on a similar thread on the old Yesterdayland board? Anyway, I was petrified of Placido Flamingo, like many of...

Has anyone actually ever seen 'A Special Sesame Street Christmas'?

It sounds absolutely dreadful, I don't know why anyone would want to see it, even just to laugh at it...
