I've said the same thing in previous posts. The SW claims the "Old School" set isn't meant for little kids. Yet I get flack for watching it as a grown up! Who exactly is supposed to watch these sets? Lol
In the end, it's best to think for yourself.
We got it, and that's definitely true in some cases. :) Though I have also seen cases where shows have great ratings, but are still removed from TV for other reasons.
Sounds like a cool game!
Hmm, well actually in the dream the video was surprisingly deep. At one point he talked about dealing with people's negative reaction to AIDS. I hadn't thought about it much before but it is true. I mean, I can understand people being afraid back in the '80s, but...
Yeah I mean, they may be afraid kids will get turned off by "outdated" shows, but it's not fair when kids don't even get the chance to see them. And the world isn't black and white. To say "kids don't like old shows" is too simplistic.
Absolutely, there's a big difference between being childlike and being childish. Childish means you're immature and not taking responsibility and not contributing to life. Childlike means you retain a sense of fun and innocence in everything you do, which is very important. :)
Well they might have thought it would be a good move when pushing this brand new, untested pilot to stick in Ernie and Bert since Sesame Street was hugely popular and acclaimed by that time.
For sure, I wish I had had Noggin back then. I also think when they reruns shows so much companies eventually decide enough is enough.
How true that is, we've talked about it many times on the board. There seems to be this movement with child experts and schools and even TV nowadays to...
Well actually Star Trek has often been considered outside the mainstream. Fans have always been called nerds, even in the '60s. That's why they changed the fan name from Trekkie to Trekker, because the latter sounded cooler. I personally still prefer Trekkie, I don't care about looking "cool"...
I definitely do want the whole series uncut released. Thing is, I guess I don't like the pilots and other specials and documentaries being considered just bonuses.
And I don't like Disney thinking no one cares.
Surprising, but if it did happen that could be great. Emmett Otter doesn't go on and on about Santa and presents, but it does represent what's most important about Christmas--generosity and bravery. :)
Today AOL news posted this amazing photo gallery of Venus and other celestial phenomenom. The beauty is just astonishing, and it's a shame that we are so uninterested most of the time:
