The FUTURE of puppetry in Television!

I agree with you that artists should also try to improve themselves and do better than the previous generation. But unfortunately, I do believe that art in general did peak awhile ago and is currently stuck in a rut. That's just my opinion of course. :)

    Flame Wars on the internet...

Yeah look at it this way. If you were walking down the street and saw a person acting all angry and freaked out, you wouldn't stop and try to reason with them. At least you shouldn't! You'd keep walking, and if necessary, go to a professional to deal with the matter. It's the same with the...

The FUTURE of puppetry in Television!

Lol, no that's OK. I don't have much either, it's all really expensive. And a digital camera and simple lighting is how it all starts. Good luck!

    Flame Wars on the internet...

The Internet makes a lot of people "brave" because they can say anything they want and remain anonymous.

    Couple of questions for Muppeteers

Yeah sort of like when Richard Hunt said puppeteers seem to prefer anonymity because "they all had weird childhoods." Lol

The FUTURE of puppetry in Television!

Thanks! Oh well I've never really seriously considered it before, though there's always the occasional fantasy. ;) At the moment I'm more of a video editing person. And actually it was the Muppets who helped inspire that in me. I've always loved watching documentaries, even as a little kid...

    The 80's seasons?

The '90s are kinda a gray area. The mid-90s were still OK, but I personally saw things changing by then that concerned me. Just a general feeling of dumbing things down.

Does anybody think you're weird for watching Sesame Street?

Though, on the bright side, all this trouble lately does encourage audiences to think for themselves, instead of relying on the mainstream for their entertainment. ;)

The FUTURE of puppetry in Television!

Hehe, I feel the same way about the Beatles, no one will ever be as good. Though I imagine Jim Henson had heroes as well and while he admired them, he probably hoped to do better than them as well. Good mentors wish that for their fans. ;)

    Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas Musical

Wow cool! I mean, kinda hoped it would be true, but I'm also surprised as well. I'll look forward to updates. (Do we need a Wendel Porcupine smiley now or something?)

Haha, cute. ;) I have a good excuse too. It's a free country! :attitude: ::hums America, the Beautiful::

The FUTURE of puppetry in Television!

Well that's true, but on the other hand there has always been room for similar yet different products, such as Disney and Warner Bros cartoons.

    Sesame/Muppet Discussions Outside of MC

The story of my life is feeling the need to hide half my entertainment interests from people, lol. Sometimes I hide things, but other times I work up the guts and just try and stand their reactions for a few minutes, lol.

Does anybody think you're weird for watching Sesame Street?

There really is no comparison between the classic material and the more recent material (imo), but the non hard core fans don't always see much of a difference. That's why they think some fans are weird, hehe.

Empire acquires rights to Jim Henson screenplay

If they did go ahead with it, I would prefer unknowns, rather than the standard default celebrities who may or not fit the parts.

    The RHLC!

Cool, I really should make up my mind to learn how to quilt or something. It must feel really good to create something like that. Just wanted to share, I've had a rather interesting week. You see, for the past few months I've been staying up much too late at night. I knew I wasn't getting...
