    Your Avatar History

Don't we have a thread for this already? But, gosh, I've changed my avatar so much in the eighteen years I've been here, I can't possibly recall all of the different avies I've used . . . but, here's the old set of seasonal Snowth avatars I had designed years back that I used to rotate...

    The "You know what?" thread

While we're still on the subject of politics, you know what actually happened to me today? I got a phone call from our local Democratic party, asking if I would take the time to campaign for them . . . you know how? By going around and ringing doorbells.

The Christmas Toy One of the Worst Specials Ever?

Stumbled onto this when trying to watch some clips of THE CHRISTMAS TOY online: Now, I've never heard of this guy before, or seen any of his reviews, but right off that bat, something didn't seem right: for starters, he mentions in the description this is one of the worst Christmas specials...

    The "You know what?" thread

Extra marital affairs aside, Clinton was a good president: he kept the country's budget in check, and kept us on good terms with other foreign nations . . . then came G.W., and he screwed all that up, and we ended up with both a recession and a war over in the middle east - both of which Obama...

What made you roll your eyes today thread?

IMHO, they're overrated, lol. I actually find their doughnuts to be too gooey and chewy. It's kind of ironic though, because our new Dunkin is just across the street from them . . . it's almost kind of like how wherever you see a McDonald's, Burger King is usually close by, or if you see a...

People in Your Neighborhood with David, Olivia, and AM

It just struck me that during the televisual timeline during the closing of THE STREET WE LIVE ON, a clip of David, Olivia, and a Fat Blue AM singing "People in Your Neighborhood" is used for 1974, yet I can't recall ever seeing this: not on YouTube (either on SW's channel, or a fan uploading)...

What made you roll your eyes today thread?

We just got Dunkin' Donuts close to where I live again at the beginning of the year, and I was really psyched about it, because the last time we had a Dunkin close to where I live was loooong ago when I was a little kid, and the only Dunkin there was was clear on the other side of town: too far...

    The "You know what?" thread

For once, Trump actually said something that I could actually get behind: because now, Lena Dunham is among the long list of celebrities saying they'll flee to Canada if Trump wins, to which Trump responded, "Americans will thank me for this." I may actually vote for Trump now, if it means...

    Questions about anything

Why does Anna Kendrick already have a book out? She doesn't seem too special.

    Same here, same here. :sigh:

    The Old Cartoon Network Thread

I was actually convinced, as a kid, that he did the episode himself, based on how they advertised it prior to airing, calling it, "this homemade episode that six-year-old kid made for us!" That made it even more impressive to me, lol. And nice to hear that Tyler Samuel Lee continued to pursue a...

    The Old Cartoon Network Thread

I was watching an old tape with that episode of Dexter that kid did, and it has me wondering why the consensus of the internet is that it's a terrible episode? What's so bad about it to begin with? You have to admit, that was a pretty clever and imaginative story for a six-year-old kid to come...

    Peppermint... STINKIN...Park. Terrible Kid's show

Seriously Drtooth, you really need to write for your own show, your cerebral and cynical sense of humor has me in stitches all the time.

    Happy Birthday Slackbot

Indeed, happy birthday, Kim, you Fraggle Goddess, you!

Episodes that Have Stuck with You

Oh yeah, and there was also the Season 35 episode where Miles and his band went up on the roof to practice, and by then, they had replaced that cardboard cutout of a skyline with a painted flat of a New York City cityscape with the Empire State Building and the Plaza Hotel.

    The Funny Videoe Thread

This is something where after you listen to it a few times, it kind of grows on you: Right now, 1:19-1:35 in particular is looping in the back of my mind.

    R.I.P. Prince (1958-2016)

As I said, this is perhaps the biggest sudden death in music since Michael Jackson.

    The "You know what?" thread

We had DUCKTALES, TALESPIN, TIMON & PUMBAA, and other Disney afternoon series, but you know what I think what have made a great Disney afternoon show? Albatross Air!

    The Chipmunks

So apparently Nick is going to start doing with ALVINNN like PBS does with ARTHUR, and air new episodes for a week every few months or so. . . . and they're still breaking up the new episodes in half, which is getting really annoying.

Sesame Street shrinks to 30 minutes, new shows will premiere on HBO and PBS nine months later

This is often the case with American shows - particularly kids shows and cartoons - where new episodes will air overseas months before they even see the light of day in their native country. Never really understood why that is, but it goes back as far as I can remember.
