Lest we also forget Big Bird was up on the roof waiting for Santa in CEOSST. And, I believe SW uploaded a video looong ago of Bob gardening on the roof with some of the kids.
Richard Pryor had his own Saturday Morning show in the 80s, produced by Sid & Marty Krofft, of all people.
PRYOR'S PLACE, which ran for only one season (and 16 episodes), was essentially SST set in LA instead of NYC, and featured a laugh track.Seriously, it took place on an inner city street...
That's the most realistic rain I've ever seen on SST: they always use a rain overlay, but they never really bothered trying to make anything look too awfully wet, but seeing the sets and the humans soaked like that is a really nice touch, I like it.
It's like with the older player, whenever you changed the playback quality, the video is initially pixelated, so you have to hover the cursor over the video or the player to fix it.
They seemed to do that on occasion back then. I know there's at least two versions of Lefty selling the 'U,' because the brief clip used in the A&E special is not the same as the version SW uploaded on YouTube.
I'm pretty sure we have this thread already, because I remember making the tasteless joke that I'm my own favorite YouTuber because I actually produce content I actually want to watch. :P
I also forgot to point out the nice little throwback in having Alan wear a Hooper's Store apron, which I only remember being used during the Handford years.
Somewhat off-topic, but I wonder why SNL hasn't shrunk down yet. I don't understand why they even bother with the last half hour of sketches for broadcast when they're always completely omitted when they reduce the reruns to an hour from an hour and a half.
This must have been a number of years ago - Alan wasn't as gray as he is now.
Not too much of a fan of these particular Elmo and Zoe puppets: Elmo looks like he's wearing a face-covering comb-over, and Zoe looks like she's had her hair teased . . . but at least it's not that hedious small Zoe.
I probably shouldn't have revealed I keep putting YT on my Compatibility View list (I say "keep putting," because YT somehow bypasses it every time I log into my official channel, causing me to have to go back and do it again), because I see now certain HD videos are now lacking 480p and 1080p...
Yeah, I heard that whenever somebody expresses disinterest or declines permission for Weird Al to spoof them, he (or one of his reps) would respond with, "Well, it was good enough for Michael Jackson." That'd be like if a decade or two prior to that, if Allan Sherman spoofed other people's songs...
Getting back to those CNP C&C comics, I was re-reading them recently, and it struck me how they subtly tried to make the comics a little more adult than the series itself, almost in the same vein as the "No Smoking" pilot. For instance, in two different stories, the word "H-E-double-toothpicks"...
As far as Patty Heaton goes, it seems to me like that must be her "type," y'know? Like how David Ogden Stiers is so good at playing such stuck-up, pompous snobs (I swear, Cogsworth is like an animated version of his M*A*S*H character); or Walter Matthau as irritable, grumpy, curmudgeons; or Will...
I'll agree that Raymond was never necessarily a show I'd go out of my way to watch, but it is something of a guilty pleasure from time to time for a change of pace . . . I do really enjoy watching the tofu turkey episode around Thanksgiving, and there are a few episodes that stand out in my...
Isn't that what all politicians do? Granted, he's not actually a politician, but he seems to be playing their ways alright.
And notice how his rallies are always the ones that stir up so much violence? Another clear sign he shouldn't be president.
