Lest we forget that gas prices shot up to $5 and more immediately (literally) when people began evacuating the southern states to get away Hurricanes Gustav and Ike. And again, that was under Dubya's term.
That's kind of what I was saying about this Xena reboot recently: the sole reason they're rebooting the series is simply because they can now blatantly show that Xena is a lesbian without getting in trouble for it. Like you said about subtext, the original series was already full of it, so what...
Well, you know what? Despite the whole "two mommies" PFB controversry from, like, over ten years ago, there's a very vocal majority among the LGTB Arthur fan community, and they desperately want the show to introduce and/or reveal a LGTB-friendly character. I can't tell you how much a majority...
I decided to write up more about this in greater detail today on my Scarblog:

After several months, gas is now back up above $2.00 a gallon again. Ho hum.
But you know what I've come to notice/realize when it comes to gas prices? Whenever the prices rise, they always do so in nickels and dimes; conversely, however, whenever the prices drop, it's in pennies.
I don't rightly know what's going on - we're supposed to get new episodes next week, however I see Nick's changed their schedule again, and put more SpongeBob and some other new show called THE LOUD HOUSE in ALVINNN's slot; I don't know if this is temporary, or if they'll air the new episodes...
Lately, people on Facebook have been speaking out about something that's been rattling around in the back of my puny brain for some time now . . . but, why, exactly, do we even need transgender bathrooms when we already have unisex bathrooms anyway?
I always wanted a Tom Bergeron bobblehead, but I didn't even know they actually made them! I see where there used to have them on ABC's site, but they're not available anymore. Dang.
That I can agree with, but as a result, this episode's EW felt like it was perhaps cut and butchered the most I've seen thus far. Not that that really matters, it was nice to get a little more out of Letter of the Day - both the film with the mother and son taking a walk through the Australian...
It's amazing how small the world really is when you realize there are these bizarre connections. I'm sure Craig Shemin came to write for Courage because maybe he and Dilly crossed paths when Dilly was doing Noodles and Nedd for SST and Ace and Avery for Big Bad. As for David Steven Cohen writing...
I was wondering if this was new, or another repeat.
Either way, it was a fun and amusing story, and I enjoyed seeing Chris growing increasingly exasperated as more and more animals were invited to dinner by Elmo, prompting him to have to serve them as he would any other customers at Hooper's...
How many of them are duplicates though? Because after you reach a certain number of them (in most cases 20, but for much of the rest of this month, I was able to get up to 40), certain vids will start duplicating in the list, and if you delete one of the duplicates, that deletes the video...
