    The Steven Universe thread

I also love how the Gamecube that Steven owns is called a Dolphin, which was the code name for the console in real life. :)

Behold... the New Teen Titans Cartoon...

So far, this has been the weakest of the 5-parter to me. I felt that they could have gone further with the dinosaur/dinosaur movie commentary (like maybe stick feathers on them and have the Titans freak out/laugh at the fact, or how Apatosaurus is the correct name for the long-necked one), but...

    The Sonic the Hedgehog Thread

Sonic Mania really feels like the Sonic game fans deserve. I'm getting huge Sonic CD vibes from it, especially from its soundtrack. Then again, one of the guys who ported Sonic CD to modern consoles is also working on this game, so no surprise there. :) No announcement for the Nintendo NX...

    The Wander over Yonder Thread

I'm guessing both of those scenes were cut for time and pacing reasons. The 1st scene does seem to run on a little long to me. Loved when Wander tried to play his banjo with only one hand in the 2nd scene, though. :)

    New Mickey Mouse Shorts Announced

I liked how reminiscent that was of those "How To" shorts starring Goofy. :)

    Songs You Can't Stand

Lest we Muppet fans forget Kenny Rogers and Charlie Daniels, who had their most well-known songs covered on TMS. :)

    When you need to rant...

I find it real stupid that Apple is changing its pistol emoji to a squirt gun. How is this going to solve gun violence, if I may ask? Focus on getting rid of real guns first before you go 4Kids on your users, Apple.

    The Steven Universe thread

We got to see Connie go on her first mission, which involved investigating a couple of corrupted Gems in the wilderness.

Behold... the New Teen Titans Cartoon...

The first part of the "Island Adventures" 5-parter aired yesterday, which parodies Gilligan's Island, specifically the extensive use of coconuts and bamboo as building materials (and Raven losing it over making coconut cream pies). Beast Boy and Cyborg even wear the respective hats of Gilligan...

    Commercial rant time...

Not as infuriating as other examples, but there's this new Fruit of the Loom commercial I've been seeing recently about these women fixated on a changing bridesmaid's new breathable panties, which is questionable in and of itself. But then they blow on them to see if they really are as...

The Worst CGI Kid Films In Recent Memory

Dear God, does that look hideous! The first Veggietales video didn't look a fraction as primitive as that, and it debuted five days prior! I mean, that show had decent textures applied to them, fluid movements, and designs that didn't fall into the uncanny valley. There's no excuse for these...

    The Steven Universe thread

We get another episode focused on Greg and Rose Quartz's relationship, and this time he has to take care of baby Sour Cream for some extra money. All the while, Rose finds it fascinating that humans can grow up and grow old while Gems practically stay the same age.

    HEH! Work It's been Canceled!

And here's what The Mysterious Mr. Enter has to say about The Goode Family. I do agree with a great deal of what he said about the show, namely about how it feels like a nearly complete antithesis to King of the Hill, except TGF rarely mocked far right ideologies in the same way KotH mocked far...

    The Steven Universe thread

Now we've gone right back into a gem-focused episode with Steven using his healing spit to try to un-corrupt Centipeedle.

Boy, and I thought John Malkovich seeing himself everywhere was horrifying.

Sanjay an Craig: New Nick series

I enjoyed the episode where S&C go incognito to win a muscle car by trying to stay in it the longest. We've seen these kind of endurance contests before in shows like Chowder (with a giant mixing bowl), Aqua Teen Hunger Force (with a giant hamburger), and more recently Turbo FAST (with an...

At least Steven now discovered the ability to enter other people's dreams. :)

There were some pretty tasty-looking food ideas in that episode. Deep-fried pizza? Pizzas made with french fries? French fries infused with marinara sauce? Count me in! :)

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

Suicide Squad is set to release at the beginning of August. I have a feeling it will get an Ant-Man level of success at the very least, considering how kind the dumpiest of dump months was to that film and especially to Guardians of the Galaxy two years ago. At least Warner Bros. was smart not...

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

Star Trek Beyond finished out on top this weekend, while incumbents The Secret Life of Pets and Ghostbusters round out the top 3. Meanwhile, Ice Age 5 wound up at a lowly 5th place with a far lower opening than past entries, showing that at least Americans are starting to get sick of the...
