Stockman got a great deal of screen time in the latest episode trying to pull a Starscream on Shredder by building his own insect army. Raph, still shell-shocked from his battle with Dregg and his army, can't stand these giant bugs.

Also gotta give props to a Disney Vacation Club commercial I remember seeing on Animal Planet a few years back for showing a boy hugging a princess for once. Sure, it annoyingly ran for almost the entire break, but I still commend Disney for being progressive in that manner.

But then you look at Crusader Rabbit, the very first televised cartoon, and there's a great deal more effort to it compared to Sam Singer's stuff. There's actual backgrounds, for one, and a great deal of wit to it that would make its way to the co-creator's next show, Rocky & Bullwinkle.

20 years from now, there are going to be kids saying the exact same thing about the shows they saw growing up. It's a never-ending cycle. And I don't think there's an over-saturation of "random" or "gross" cartoons and a lack of action-oriented stuff like Rugrats1 is making it out to be. If...

High-Five Ghost could use some more focus, too. I always felt him to be the most elusive of the main cast.

I know this isn't a commercial, but I still feel it falls under it: I like how Subway's new logo is reminiscent of the one they used throughout the '90s and before. I guess they're trying to woo Millennials with a little nostalgic throwback.

I would love for the Kroffts to reboot H.R. Pufnstuf, if only to see how the puppets and set pieces would look on a bigger budget. And considering that the original never got closure, it's deserving of a reboot. EDIT: Forgot about that feature film that the Kroffts have been planning with Sony...

I loved how we got a sweet little musical number about Stevonnie needing to find balance, followed by And how 'bout the episode before that, where we got to see a little more of the origin of Beach City and its founder? Not to mention his interaction with Rose and the Crystal Gems.

I'd say only the Abby shirt manages to look somewhat decent and on-model.

Digital "film" does have its advantages in that it is more accessible to amateurs, but I agree, you just can't fully replicate that warmth and detail that analog film provides. Case in point: Thomas the Tank Engine. In its first 7 seasons, the 35mm stock they used really brought out the detail...

But it sure did twist that formula as much as it could, especially in its later seasons.

"Cookie World" is another episode that shouldn't be overlooked. Sesame Street doing a self-parody of one of their most banal segments? Brilliant! Plus, I'd say it had more educational value than the thing it parodied. :D

"The Fury" was a totally awesome episode. They actually commissioned Studio 4C to animate an anime fight sequence between Nicole and Yuki (Masami's mom). CN hasn't worked with them since they cancelled Transformers Animated! :)
