These releases could come in a brown wrapper and I'd love them just as much as long as they were complete with no cuts. However, I still find it fun to think about what would look best on the cover. Here are some very crude comps I just slapped together. My favorites are Gonzo and Teeth.
It was once stated on the old Delphi forum that one member's mother felt that Miss Piggy and Kermit's sexual tension was unsuitable for young viewers. I think that’s silly. I also have trouble with the folk that condemn the old Tom & Jerry and classic Warner Bros violence. It is actually said...
I too prefer my Gonzo to be a bit wilder and of ambiguous origin as he was in his prime. Explaining the unexplainable will always be a let down. Well, and people and characters just get older - icon or not. It happens.
I have missed Animal and the rest of the Mayhem for a while. I'm glad...
Animal and Gonzo and others...
Frank Oz stated that Animal is a simple, one-note sort of character. EAT! DRUMS! WOMAN! It's funny for fans, but it connects with non-fans and is easily marketable because no effort is required to understand his primal urges. Animal is a glorified and lovable...
There is no HD player aside from Blu-ray or HDDVD (now defunct and did not provide upscaling) so it's not clear what your talking about. Nonetheless, this thread is about Fraggle Rock and Blu-ray. I keep trying to get it back to that topic, but these responses seem vague and random.
Then you didn't watch an image upscale - just a DVD on an HDTV. You're certainly speaking of something entirely different in that you are confusing a television with a playing device attachment. There’s no image upgrade – just a larger scale. It’s comparing apples and watermelons rather than a...
You're still lumping HD with Blu-ray. You likely watched a DVD hooked up to an HD monitor. No other HD device does the upgrading mentioned with Blu-Ray so it's not correct to connect them as the same thing. It is a common mistake.
The regular FR DVD quality is fine, but when playing it or any...
I didn't say just HD. I mentioned Blu-ray (and only Blu-ray) players upgrade every DVD they play. This includes Fraggle Rock that I have actually witnessed for myself. Some prefer viewing it on the same little box they did as a kid. I get that, but it's not about technical quality as much as...
There's little Blu-ray would bring to Fraggle Rock unless an extensive interactive element were to be added. The video quality wouldn't bump up any more than Blu-ray players already do to DVD image quality. It would also be more expensive. There are many filmed Muppet projects that will look...
Great Beaker hair. That's not easy to get right. I'm really looking forward to how Scooter turns out. Also, we know Animal's going to rock with all of his wild hairs! :halo:
Here are some postcard bookmarks
The Diva Code contains 7 black and white Xeroxed Miss Piggy photos aside from the cover image. 5 of these photos are the unflattering calendar poser pics we've seen many times before. The other two are the Guess Who picture and the long pink dress image. There's...
This is what I'm going to do and I encourage others here to do the same. My Piggy image resources aren't what they should be but I do have several pictures.
I will clip and edit a few hi-res images into postcard size and allow forum members access to save and print them as bookmarks. I'm...
Then why release Diva Code at all? That's what doesn't make sense. Once they decided to release it there's really no excuse for sloppy and cynical execution. I’m getting tired of the economy ate my homework explanation, but we’re likely to hear more of it in all aspects of life.
I took a...
Citing lack of Muppet popularity isn't a good answer...
Publishing is so click and drag easy these days with programs like Adobe InDesign. It's like Photoshop for books - a great tool in the right hands but too often put into the hands of Joe Shmoes that no little about layout and design. A...
The written portions are great. It's just that I would have liked to see something more dynamic by way of layout and design. Basically the editor just dumped Jim Lewis' text onto the pages with very little thought and Xeroxed off a few pieces of the easiest stock art available.
Miss Piggy's...
Nothing New...
I just got the book out of support for the new Muppet merchandise.
The humorous one-liners are well written in Piggy's unmistakable voice. Jim Lewis has that down. However the entire treatment of the book is far beneath the status she has earned since her debut on the Muppet...
Actually, Disney could have the right to take back the license if the lack of product constitutes breach of contract, but only Disney, MR and their attorneys know what is in the contract. I hope that doesn't happen, of course. It probably wouldn't, but it could and if WOE's statements about...
Great sculpt!
I find this sort of collectible confusing due to the whole wig/accessory/costume separation. It appears that the pig herself is available in a two-piece swimsuit, shoes and "wheat-color" (ash blonde) wig for $99 and then clothes could be purchased separately if needed.
