BOOM! has a their huge Muppet poster (the character puppet poster we always see) up at Wondercon. It dominates their booth, however most attendees see it as a lure because there's no Muppet product at their booth. I was hoping for some advanced promotional item at least. Oh well, My Vinylmation...
The Flash embed, loading and streaming isn't the best. The interface should be simpler and clips should be able to cache before view. I'm sure they'll figure it out. That's why MC has contained Flash sections. Users like that better. :super:
That MFS bit and his Telly info were my main focus. Great article.
I always thought it was Sony that hijacked MFS, but I guess it was initially led by Henson in their axing the first director. I believe if the script and director had really been what was originally intended that the Muppets...
In a recent Tough Pigs piece (those are getting to be fantastic once again) Mazzarino admits to favoring writing for Telly Monster, but doesn't know why kids don't like him more. Maybe the even younger target audience for Sesame isn't at the age of fret and frustration that Telly represents...
My guess of kids' choices for currently popular Sesame characters:
1. Elmo
2. Abby
3. Grover
4. Cookie
5. Ernie
6. Oscar
7. Count
8. Big Bird
9. Zoe
10. Telly
What they should be IMHO:
1. & 2. Ernie & Bert
3. Oscar
4. Cookie
5. Big Bird
6. Herry
7. Telly
8. Count
9. Zoe...
I like my Law & Orders (formulaic, yet comforting and well produced), but ER has been skipped by me for nearly a decade (too many implausible character combinations/situations for my taste). It's that 10 pm hour of television where the interesting things would happen. Now we'll have Jay Leno...
As an avid user of Adobe products; I didn't notice any Photoshop gradients but it does have some shading just like most other comics of today. I have said many things about Langridge's work, but Photoshopped has never been one of them. ;) This beautifully matches the rest of his work. Finally...
I really don't favor Daly or Fallon. Both had minimal entertainment value to me that expired long ago. I think NBC should have started fresh and picked a new talent.
I find it Leno's hanging on and bumping an hour off NBC's prime time to be cheap and tacky. This cuts the legs out from under...
Gonzo Cover Unveiled!
Muppet Newsflash's More Muppet Comics Come in May article unveils one cover for Langridge's Gonzo issue. This interpretation actually tickles me (in a good way) so I thought compelled to share that. The image is very tiny, but I can make out Uncle Deadly and what appears...
The Kermit and Fozzie father idea was just a gag used for a film. That bear-frog is no more their dad than Gonzo is Charles Dickens (or even an alien if you ask me).
Consider this: The Muppets are an acting troupe. Yes, their names are Miss Piggy, Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, Scooter and Rowlf etc...
Neca really is the best there is in the action figure arena these days. Not every sculpt is a winner, but they usually come closer to the mark than anyone else.
One little trick I've learned from my time with action figures is that many of them don't stand very well on their own. And those...
I still think my idea would work. :coy: Japan is one of the few major places where they find no need for a personalized educational Sesame Street program. Sesame gets by with its universal humor and simplicity of style. I'm not sure how the Muppet Show brand would go over there? I can see a cute...
Oooh. That's one I might pick up for $99. :) It would fit nicely with the posers even though she isn't one. Sure, she's a bit smaller, but 16 inches is fairly froggin huge!
Archive.org has some pages of what Muppet Central used to look like before the rebranding and move from geocities. Here's one. Not all the gifs load, but it gives an idea to those members who joined us post-revamp.
That really needs to be remedied. Maybe Disney should re edit the old Muppet films out of sequence so they don't make sense, add some motion graphics, Japanese techno pop music and the Muppets would be an instant hit in Japan! I am joking, of course, but I actually think it would work. How much...
