(sitting up on lifeguard platform, adjacent to Richard and Sara's table, wearing army helmet and flak jacket)
The battlefield looks delicious, Commander, but both sides are getting creamed. (joke earns her an eclair launched at her by R.H.) Mmm, chocolate! Thanks! (devours eclair, picks up...
Nora: There you are, you've been out all day.
MN: Sorry, it's been a madhouse down at the paper and stuff. And you're not looking so chipper yourself.
Nora: Oh...that's because I was crushed to death by a stack of slightly risque romance novels down at the bookstore, and what you are actually...
Eeesh...I leave you guys alone for one night while I'm off tallying election results down at the paper, and I return to find enough muffins to end a seven-year famine. Oh well, situation normal.
Anyhoo, on the subject of 'The Peace Carol' several pages back...that is such a beautiful song...
Oh, Kathy, that sounds really awful.
But don't beat yourself up over being a wimp; after all, Wembley gave all sorts of good reasons why you should love a wimp in "We Love You, Wembley."
Nora: Erin's out at the moment. She's off taking a spin on that scooter you guys gave her.
Storyteller: So it's just us for now! I think I'll do a few lines on that quilt...where did I put that thread?
Nora: I think I'll borrow those anime DVDs Ed and the Count sent...and that copy of The Lost...
I think you guys will like it. Mom keeps gushing over how great it looks.
We need to get Janice, Beaker and the rest of Scooter onto the panel, sew down the other nameplates, attach the rest of the border and quilt around everything. It's a two-person job. But like I said, it looks rully nice.
Ah, Nausicaa and Castle in the Sky. Miyazaki always did do good work. Thanks, Count!
Guys, I had a marvelous time, and I really love the presents you guys gave me. It was really sweet of you. I'll take my new scooter for a spin this afternoon.
Thanks again!
Let's see, "brutal" leadership isn't really a must, the way I see it. Sara does a good job just by being Sara. I'd say the most crucial part is just a warped imagination coupled with a good computer connection. And one of the members actually being related to the club's namesake doesn't hurt...
MN: Aw, thanks, big yellow fellow (gives Big Bird a hug back). And a tape recorder...ooh, nice. Thanks, Telly! This'll really help on the long interviews.
Storyteller: Anyone big you'd like to interview?
MN: Let's see...I'd like to interview the Muppeteers, a number of big-name rock stars...
MN: Holy cow, an electric scooter...you guys, this is beautiful, just beautiful. Thanks a million!
Nora: Go take it for a spin!
MN: Not in here, silly goose, I'd have trouble maneuvering around the buffet table.
Storyteller: And speaking of buffet...I'll take a few Doozer stick cupcakes!
MN...
MN: Yes, the Newsgirl is here, just overworked. My professors HAD to assign ten tons of homework for this weekend...
Storyteller: Oh, get away from the books for a bit.
Nora: Yeah, that's an order, Miss Too Smart for Her Own Good!
MN: All right, all right, I'm going. But you two are coming as...
Oh, isn't that sweet. Snuffy always looked like he needed a hug.
Mom said she made the rug not too long after she and Dad got married, which would have been right around the time the Muppet Show was on the air.
She'd rather remove a few bits of yarn from it for an AIDS quilt panel than let...
A party? For me? Aw, thanks you guys, I'll try to put my work on hold long enough to stop in and party a bit!
Nora: Happy birthday to you...
Storyteller: You live in a zoo...
Nora: You've got ten zillion deadlines...
Storyteller: And...you've got homework too!
MN: (sarcastic) Gee, thanks for...
Time to bump the thread up.
Update on the quilt: we've sewn down most of the panels and we're starting to quilt around some of them. Statler and Sweetums are mostly done.
I painted and heat-set Scooter's face and sewed him onto the panel, and I had the honor of sewing his hair on.
Get a load...
Of course. Richard, the Muppet crew's resident sugar junkie, as attested to by his co-workers, his niece and his mother. And will somebody please explain to me how on earth he stayed long and lean?
My computer's over the hiccups now, but it's probably going to have to go into the shop soon...
Or maybe pasta, marinara sauce?
Hi, gang, it's Wednesday night, I've just come from a late class, plus a meeting of the campus anime club, and my computer's got a bad case of the hiccups. Life continues apace here.
Like I said, nothing's going to really be done on the quilt until the weekend...
